On National Healthcare Decisions Day, we encourage everyone to have conversations about advance care planning with loved ones. Starting these conversations now can help limit stress and uncertainty if you are ever unable to speak for yourself during care.

Not sure where to start? Join us next Thursday, April 23, for a special Ask the Experts webinar talking about how to start the conversation and what you need to know about advance directives.

At Adventist HealthCare, patient safety is at the heart of everything we do—and today, we’re proud to celebrate a powerful example of that commitment in action. 💙

Please join us in congratulating Petra, RN, recipient of our 2026 Good Catch of the Year Award! 👏

When a patient arrived at the Emergency Department with serious symptoms, Petra trusted her instincts and advocated for further evaluation—even when the initial diagnosis suggested otherwise. Because she spoke up and persisted, the care team uncovered a life-threatening stroke and ensured the patient received the critical care they needed.

Petra’s actions are a true reflection of perseverance, integrity, and unwavering dedication to doing what’s right. As shared during the award presentation, “Let us not become weary in doing good…” — and Petra embodies that message every day.

From her journey into nursing to her impact as a compassionate leader in the ED, Petra continues to inspire those around her.

Join us in celebrating Petra and all of our team members who make patient safety a priority every single day. 🌟
