I know you don’t.

Please stop thinking you could “always be doing more”, constantly beating yourself up…. and hide your crippling mental state so well.

Repeat after me with your hand on your heart: “I am enough. Just as I am.”

If you read my husbands newest published book, “Keep Your Head In the Wind”, you’ll know that last year we experienced a miscarriage, business losses, health scares, and said goodbye to our 17 year old dog … all within a span of 8 months.

Instead of “pushing through”, the best thing to do for my mental health was to take a sabbatical. I did the bravest thing for me - I went deep inward and took a long break to focus on my family and my health.

I have many spiritual lessons I’ve learned from baby loss and taking a career break that I plan to share, but first some happy news:

Baby #2, our rainbow baby, is joining our family in a few months.

If you are waiting on your baby to come to you, I know how hard it can be. Your timeline is perfect and you’re right where you need to be. Even if it doesn’t feel like it. Your baby is coming 🙏🏼

And if you’re in need of a sabbatical, trust yourself to take the time off. Sometimes, we must let go and take a legit mental health break to give us room to receive all that we have been trying to find.

The truth is that this has been one of the most mentally and physically challenging years I’ve ever experienced.

As much as I love my life, this year has taken a toll on me.

I’ve been in the wellness industry since my dark night of the soul in 2012. This year has had similar themes looking like:

🖤Physical issues/losses (crippling anxiety, several illnessses, a trip to the ER)

🖤Financial loss (upwards of 6 figures)

🖤Business losses (like many others)

… and it’s all impacted my mental health.

So instead of “pushing through” I chose a softer approach and took a step back to focus on my well-being.

I stopped fighting the struggles and trying to control them and have been focusing heavily on allowing, surrendering and letting go… slowly.

I didn’t quit. Instead, I took a break.

I focused on inner peace. Sitting with my emotions. Releasing. Healing. Crying.

I am starting to slowly come back to life and want you to know that if you’re going through a dark time that you aren’t alone.

Take it one day, one hour, one breath at a time.

You truly never know what someone is going through.

At my upcoming one day fall retreat, Lean In to Let Go, I will be walking along side you as we spend a day releasing, letting go, and forgiving the past.

Immersing ourselves in nature we will align ourselves to release the past as gracefully as the trees show us how to let go.

The one day experience will be a day of: guided meditations, gentle yoga, nature therapy, lecture on spiritual leadership, and a bonfire ritual to release and let go.

Join me in releasing the past so we can make space for new beginnings together.

October 21 in Galena, Illinois from 9-5pm. All inclusive (breakfast and lunch included.)

PS: Light a candle and practice slow deep breaths. It doesn’t stay dark forever.

If you want to move forward in your life you have to create space to allow the new to flow in. The new can’t come if you’re holding on to something that isn’t serving you.

What is the ONE thing you are committed to letting go of?

Is it…

💚 a past event?
💚 a belief/mindset?
💚 a job?
💚 a relationship?

Join us for my annual one day fall retreat experience in Galena, Illinois on October 21st.

You will be led through powerful mindfulness, leadership and healing practices to release - by connecting deeply to how gracefully the trees let go.

How to be more mindful at work this week:

1. Meditate at your desk before you begin any work to help you get centered, focused and activate a sense of calm. This can be as simple as setting a timer on your phone for 3 minutes, and sitting with your eyes closed as you simply breathe.

2. Do one thing at a time (one tab open at a time, complete one task at a time.) Use a post-it note to write down the task you are focusing on, and put it on your computer.

3. Take several deep belly breaths before a work call or a task that requires deep focus.

4. Write down three things you're grateful for that happened at work everyday before you complete your work day.

Here's your friendly reminder as we head into the weekend that REST IS PRODUCTIVE.

You cannot pour out into your work, your family or your community with the best you have to give from an empty cup.

The goal is to give your gifts in your work and life from an overflowing cup.

Fill up your cup this weekend.

Rest. Do nothing. Lay in the sun. Sit quietly without scrolling, watching or reading anything.

Breathe.

Do something that fills up your soul.
