Our staff completed our bi-annual CPR and First Aid training yesterday with our friend, Ron.

We learned the most updated protocols and completed multiple team drills including high-quality CPR, how to help a person who is choking, and using an AED device.

We hope we never need to use these skills but we always want to stay sharp!

The word "diaphragm" comes from Greek “diáphragma”, meaning "partition" or "barrier," from dia- ("across") and phrágma ("fence"), ultimately from the verb phrássō ("to fence in"). Our diaphragm is essentially a partition that separates the chest from the abdomen.

Coordinated diaphragmatic breathing allows the ribs, abdomen, and pelvic floor to move together, helping pressure shift smoothly instead of forcing it downward.

Learning how to recognize and adjust breathing mechanics can be a powerful step toward better pelvic floor function.

If pelvic floor health had a behind-the-scenes MVP, it might be your breath.

Diaphragmatic breathing isn’t just about relaxation—it plays a key role in how pressure is managed through the core, including the pelvic floor.

When the diaphragm, abdominal wall, and pelvic floor work together, everyday activities like coughing, lifting, and exercising become more efficient and supportive. When they don’t, symptoms like leakage, pelvic pain, heaviness, or straining can show up.

Starting a movement routine doesn’t have to mean doing everything at once or pushing yourself into burnout. In our partnership with , Julianna encourages people to start by clarifying why they want to move, exploring forms of movement they actually enjoy, and planning in ways that are realistic, not rigid.

Movement can be supportive, flexible, and responsive to your energy instead of something you force or bribe yourself to do.

If you’re craving a routine that works with your body rather than against it, comment ROOTED to get started.

Consistency doesn’t come from motivation alone — it comes from realistic planning.

What usually gets in the way: time, energy, motivation, or doing too much at once?

How Can I Help You?

I’m starting this business because I know that frequently I get asked questions about all sorts of therapy related things, that require just a short conversation and some education or a prescription of a few exercises that can make a big change. This site is for the person who can’t make it in to see me but has a question for them self or their baby/ child. Whether you’re looking for recommendations for an exercise program post partum, struggling with a personal issue like sexual dysfunction, incontinence or constipation, or just have a question about your child’s development or posture, this is the perfect forum for you to reach out.

I work in a facility where I am fortunate to do a little bit of everything but my primary focus at work on Pelvic Health for men, women and children and Pediatric rehabilitation as a whole. I always prefer to see folks in person, so I can be hands on to see what is really happening. I am a full time therapist at a great facility that takes almost all insurances, so if you want to know how to come in, let me know. The number is (609) 652-7000 x 5469.
