I decided to purchase an MYX Fitness bike since I love biking, but not a fan of the cold. I've used it for a few weeks with my Beachbody on Demand workouts. It's been humbling. I thought I was in better cycling shape. Hopefully this helps me when it warms up and I hit the trails.

Last Sunday I finished another workout program. I've done over 25 different programs since I began with P90X. There were a few I started but didn't like and there were others I did at least twice. Not every type of workout is for you. Find the ones you look forward to doing. It's been over ten years since I refocused on this healthier lifelong journey. A few things I've learned:
1. While not all calories are equal nutritionally, the basic simple truth is calories in must be less than calories out to lose weight.
2. Moderate weight fluctuation is normal. There are several factors for this so don't obsess over your scale.
3. No cleanse, special pill or coffee, or highly restrictive diet will serve you long term.
4. You're going to f*ck up sometimes. It just can't be an excuse to stop moving in the right direction.
5. Your why is stronger than motivation (your why will probably change several times as you get older too.)
6. There are many days you won't be motivated to move your body. Commit to try for 5 minutes. More than likely you'll keep going.

This showed up in my memories today on Facebook. It's hard to believe it's been 11 years since I decided I was tired of my own s**t and excuses and started to put my health as a priority. I haven't regretted one workout or the changes in my eating habits.

I've learned so much about myself during the process. I can have failures and still continue, I can moderately indulge without guilt, I can be consistent, i can be a badass, and I can be disciplined to workout stupid early because it helps me have a better mental approach to my day. All of these lessons are transferable to all aspects of my life.
