2025 in review
I only took two doula clients since I was working, then student teaching, at an elementary school. Their due dates were 11 days apart, but they gave birth less than 12 HOURS apart. Such is birth and doula schedule "planning." My friend Mother Well Doula was able to support the second client while I attended an incredibly special birth in a room filled with the sweetest, most loving family and friends. Sometimes birth rooms with lots of people can feel overwhelming, but this one was full of joy. I didn't do much other than provide some informational support and take iPhone photos and video because my client had an A++ support team.
After her birth, I walked down the hallway for the last 11 hours of my second client's labor and birth.
In December, I graduated with my Master's in Elementary Education and got a teaching license. For the first half of 2026, I'm taking several doula clients and will start looking for a teaching job for next school year. Staying connected, even in a small way, with birth work feels right. ❤️
