Thank you for having me yesterday ! Healthy Kids day was completely full of fun energy! 🧘🏻‍♀️✨🤸🏻‍♀️

It’s been a long time since I’ve stood on a field, at the middle of a stadium, wearing royal blue 😂 Reminding me of my UK Dance team days. The difference is….. I didn’t feel pressured, I felt content, happy, separate from outcome, not judged for my performance(by myself or others). I connected with my community instead of competing with them. I stayed connected to myself.

When I was on my college dance team, struggling with myself, struggling with my inner peace - that is when I first found yoga and it brought me back to my self. I found peace I hadn’t experienced in many years. Now peace is closer and more accessible than it used to be.

I learned the term Performance Based Esteem last week - when we base our worth off of the outcome of our performance - this has definitely been my life struggle, my addiction. We are not our performances, we are not the opinions others have of us, we are worthy no matter what because we are here and we are human. I am not a perfect human, but feeling this shift from ten years ago to today was truly rewarding. Follow your heart, be you, have fun, remember your worth. 💙

3.6.2021 I thought I’d look through my feed, a year in the past, and not recognize myself…. Was I WRONG! 🤷🏻‍♀️

It was yoga teacher training weekend , I was Shan-Dawgs teaching assistant… and Heather gave a beautiful project presentation on the yoga sutras of Patanjali. I was not super familiar then. But the sayings I randomly drew from the stack felt profound, deep, fitting.

Here I am a year later and I study these weekly, almost daily, because they help me find peace and untangle the mental threads that have been my life. 🧶

It’s amazing to see how my yoga practice has grown and in my heart this photo is even more of an indication than the asana. More than the poses, the physical.

I am grateful I got a taste of this ancient observational psychology. Something seen as spiritual that I see as a detailed observation of what the f**k it means to be human.

Here’s to more philosophical deep dives, more guidance from the universe, and more connection with other souls over just being f**king human. It’s beautiful. It’s messy. It’s real. ✨🙏✨

Magical Jungle Smiles ✨🦎🌿

Traveling, being in the jungle, seeing wildlife, being by the beach, surrounded by love and friendship… I can’t help but think about how happy the many versions of Younger Chainey would be right now. Grateful I could make this happen for her. 🙏

Peep the last photo for some wrinkles 👵 Which I honestly LOVE the more I look at them. As someone who’s constantly been defined by their appearance and told I look young…. I love being able to see signs of maturity on my face. I love breaking out of the mold of societal beauty norms. I LOVE my life and how my face is celebrating how far I’ve come in this Journey of being Chainey.

Celebrating life is Yoga. 🙏

“I wanna play!” 🤸🏻‍♀️ this is the mantra that came to me after a fun morning rocket class with

I had been in my head… comparing my practice to others… and forgetting how far I had come myself. I think we can all get caught up in this. Then… After deciding to play, CD my WHOLE day shifted.

It’s not about how “well” we play. It’s about getting our ass on the playground, having fun, and making friends.

When we’re playful we take the seriousness out of life, life becomes fun and fluid like playdo instead of hard and rigid.

How can you choose to play with life??? In all of its beautiful moments.

Beach Reading 📖

This is my first time reading the Bhagavad Gita all the way through. Though I have listened to an audio book on it - highly recommend if you can’t find time to read/ don’t enjoy it. Loving this commentary and how practical the Gita can be.
