Wednesday nights, April through May at 6:30 to 7:30 in Garey Park:
Wind down along with the sun, breathing and stretching in a flow and hold style Yoga class. We start with deep breathing and end with the traditional Savasana relaxation pose after some stretching. You will learn basic Sun Salutations or enhance your current practice of them. You will flow through some poses Vinyasa style and will hold some poses Hatha style. Please note, participants will need to be able to get up and down off the mat. However, modifications are offered so beginners can ease into the practice and experienced students can be challenged. Heart rates will rise moderately; this class is appropriate for yoga newbies to intermediates. Level 1-4. Bring your own mat, water, and towel and come get your yoga on!
Yoga with Winnie: My style of teaching is laid back, it's okay to have some fun. I emphasize breathing and utilizing the pelvic floor muscles. I start classes with a breathing exercise and end class with a traditional Savasana. Classes are Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa and Kundalini based. I teach beginning to intermediate level. I'm prenatal certified and have experience teaching families. My goal is to lead you though a physical workout that enables you to have those quiet (or sometimes loud) internal mental moments that bring you closer to your inner true self. At the same time, I'm known to get excited in class because I get really proud of my students. I'm an enthusiastic and high energy-style rather than a quiet-style instructor.
