On Tuesday, November 18th, the Campbell Clinic Foundation partnered with Memphis Union Mission to lead the 18th annual “Our Hearts to Your Soles” foot clinic. With over 21 volunteers – from physicians and their families, residents and medical students, staff and longtime donors – this event brings compassionate foot care to men and women experiencing homelessness. One hundred people were served, each receiving a foot exam and nail care, new shoes, socks, a winter care package, and fresh baked cookies.

🩻Orthopaedic Exploration Day 2025 📣

When we think about the future of our community—and the future of medicine—we need to invest in dynamic learning opportunities.

Every day, we meet young people who are bright, curious, and full of potential—but many of them simply don’t know what’s possible. They may not realize that the careers shaping our community and our healthcare system are within their reach.

When students have the chance to use drills and saws reserved for operations, talk with clinicians, researchers and business people, or watch a hands-on demonstration, something powerful happens:

They begin to imagine themselves in those roles.

OED is a chance for high school students to see what’s out there, understand their options, and know that we believe in them.

The 2nd Annual Mid-South Spine Symposium was an amazing collaboration of Orthopaedic surgeons, industry partners, fellows and residents committed to improving patient spine care and treatment. Five powerhouse institutions—Campbell Clinic, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, University of Iowa, and Andrews Othopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute offered lectures and labs to build surgical skills and technique. Earlier this month, Dr. Tyler Brolin was selected to be a 2025 European Traveling Fellow, a prestigious program hosted by the European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow (SECEC) and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon s (ASES) The two fellows worked and taught with peers in nice European cities in The UK, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and Belgium.
This experience provides maximum exposure to the major shoulder and elbow centers in the US and Europe; facilitates learning and best clinical practices in shoulder and elbow care; and enhances surgical skills and competencies among international surgeons.
Congratulations to Dr. Brolin on his honor!

Campbell leadership and impact extend far beyond our walls! In September, Campbell staff Drs. Derek Kelly and Keith Orland and residency alumni Drs. Catherine Olinger (2020) and Rob Murphy (2014) played a huge part in the Scoliosis Research Society annual meeting in Charlotte, NC. This effort results in better information and better patient care around the world!

Did you know that neatly 1/3 of our Campbell orthopaedic surgery resident training takes place at Regional One Health. These 12 week rotations give these surgeons-in-training exposure and experience with every kind of orthopaedic condition, injury, and complication, and as a result, become confident, capable and compassionate surgeons.
