👋🏼 Just wanted to introduce myself here as I am creating Nova’s virtual presence …
My name is Ginka Conrey, LCSW, PMH-C. My name is pronounced with “G” as in “good” and I am a practitioner working with individuals navigating various life transitions, with particular expertise and passion in working with men and women in the postpartum period and traversing through parenthood. I believe in creating and holding safe space but also in the power of the long lasting changes that the therapy process can bring about. My passion is helping my clients process through childhood, generational and adult traumas to help them move towards more authentic versions of themselves and more vulnerable parenthood.

8️⃣. 4️⃣. 0️⃣ 6️⃣ vs 8️⃣. 4️⃣. 2️⃣ 4️⃣

This past week has been a week of reflection as I decided to delay my contemplative post in honor of my journey. As I pause to honor the little girl who embarked on a journey full of dreams, I wanted for the first time to mindfully sit validate and acknowledge the hills, the valleys, the roadblocks and the beauty of those last 18 years. Yes, there are many people to thank, many mentors, friends, colleagues and passer -by’s on the way to appreciate but I realize that seldom do I sit and appreciate the grit and determination that my 18 year old self possessed. Goals and dreams are destinations but I am a traveler. I have grown to enjoy the rides, but now I am learning to pause, indulge and cherish them.
As the days get more hectic by the year, as the dreams and goals keep evolving, I needed to pause and connect with the little 18 year old self who silently cried at the Atlanta airport while watching a girl my age and her family laugh and gather in excitement.. whilst it hit me how lonely and big the adventure I had embarked on is. Fast forward to now my 2️⃣ suitcases I came with are far too small to gather the love, blessings, the home and the life that I have garnered.

‼️So, take a moment to connect with your younger self, heal and nurture your inner child and celebrate your empowered self.
