Feed. Clothe. House. Heal. That's what Let's Dare to Care participated in this weekend at St. Vincent de Paul's Urban Farm! A dream to turn a parking lot into an urban farm resulted in producing 45,000 lbs of organic food to feed the homeless! Even more amazing is that these young amazing folks earned $300 and spent it on needs in their community!! Portland A Reed enjoyed the day with three young Let's Dare to Care leaders for a visit to The Centers for Habilitation (TCH). Isaiah Pitts, an example of perseverance! Henry Hoang, excels in everything he does Michael Gaynor, who was born to lead. We spent time at The Centers for Habilitation (TCH) witnessing the contributions of people our society too often fails to protect. The residents at TCH were so loving and so caring. Vita Global Dared to Care!! We met a homeless man in DC two years ago. He spent the day at Union Station, Washington D.C. because he had nowhere to go and then he would sleep at a shelter in the evening. There was something special about this man, so we filmed him and his story that day!! He was former military; a he**in addict for 37 years, one son was murdered and his other son is not talking to him. Well, guess what? After we communicated to him that he mattered to us and that his message will heal others, he believed that his mistakes would turn out for good and it did!! 1 year later, He did a Ted Talk, he's no longer homeless, he has a job, a "lady friend" and he is reconciling with his family. This is the power of what Milton says, "Acknowledging Another Human Being." He is getting requests all over the country to speak. He has nearly 1000 fan mail letters now and has spoken at the top universities after we encouraged him to tell his story!! What?!! Holla!!!
