One of my favorite transformations (and favorite people)

Working with post-partum moms is one of my favorites. I’ve been there. And I would try all the crash diets to try and get the weight off. AND I ALWAYS FAILED)

But believe me (and have a lot of patience) that results will happen! We worked on being consistent in…

- Hitting calorie goals
- Hitting protein goals
- Increasing activity level (walking)
- Applying progressive overload to training

(Notice how i didn’t say we slashed out all the carbs or some other crazy fad diet).

Everything is difficult in the beginning. It doesn’t matter if it’s improving your health, a new job, or learning a new skill. But when you commit to the skill long enough it becomes and habit. And with time those habits become your lifestyle. What was once hard and something you had to force yourself to act upon becomes easier and almost automatic.
(Trust me I have been a beginner too).

The key is committing to a long enough timeframe. Imagine working out 4x a week, 60 minutes a session, for an entire year. That's 208 hours in the gym under your belt. It'd be near impossible to not engrain working out as part of your lifestyle.

Now imagining hiring the perfect nutrition coach who helps you take that yearly goal, and break down into monthly and weekly goals. ❤️

Not every day is going to be a “crushed your workout” kind of day. There will days you don’t feel like doing anything.

But I know most of you do. You show up when you don’t want to. And that to me inspiring. (Meaning I do not care what you can squat or your score for the workout was).

Where my “muscle mommies” at!??💪🏻💪🏻

Shout out to those who don’t strive to lose weight because they weighed “x” amount in college.

It’s not “today you” versus “college you”. It is “today you” versus “yesterday you”.

So if you ever gotten to a goal weight that sacrificed your physical health, mental health. That’s not a goal weight. That was punishment. And believing weighing a certain amount will make you happier is just going to exacerbate deeper rooted issues.

Dieting does not equal healing.

I know it’s easier said than done - but keep fighting that good fight 🤍

Sadly, we live in a world where symptoms are diagnosed… masking major complaints with medications without figuring out the root cause.

Symptoms that are diagnosed:
Anxiety
Depression
Hypothyroidism
Endometriosis
PCOS
Chronic UTI’s
Migraines
IBS/ IBD
Autoimmune disorders
Chronic fatigue
Anemia
Insomnia
Acid reflux/ heartburn

What needs to be addressed to heal: (and functional testing can shine a light into these areas):

A healthy microbiome
Detoxification and liver support
Nutrient and mineral balance
A nutritient dense diet
Nervous system work
Sunshine
Finding balance and purpose
Prioritize Sleep
Rest
Supporting adrenals
Supporting digestion

There’s no prescription that will replace these healing practices. And just throwing supplements at someone without testing what they need, may make things worse! ( trust me… the influencers are out there promoting products🫠). Supplements can be super helpful. But they have to be individualized. It’s not a one size fits all.

Any questions about testing I’d love to help answer! They aren’t used to “diagnose” but help find ways to promote healing and get you feeling and looking your best 🤍
