🌟 WELCOME OUR NEWEST THERAPIST 🌟

We are excited to announce that Jessica Ganus Koen, LMSW has officially joined the team at A Better You Counseling Services, LLC - and she is now accepting new clients!

Jessica is a Licensed Master Social Worker with a strong background in working with children, adolescents, and families, especially those navigating behavioral challenges, emotional regulation, and life stressors. She brings years of hands-on experience providing individual and group counseling, developing behavior plans, and collaborating closely with families, schools, and community agencies.

Currently, Jessica serves as a Behavior Intervention Specialist with the Wayne County School District, where she works with children ages 3–14 in both general and special education settings. Her work includes creating Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) while supporting students’ emotional and behavioral success at school and home.

Jessica’s professional background also includes:
• Hospital Social Work, supporting patients and families during medical crises
• Forensic Interviewing & Child Advocacy, working with children impacted by abuse
• Child Protection & Family Services, advocating for safety, stability, and family support

She is deeply committed to ethical, client-centered care and has extensive experience working with children and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Jessica is passionate about helping children feel safe, understood, and supported while empowering families with the tools they need to thrive.

📣 It’s been a busy and rewarding week for A Better You Counseling Services!

Bailey McIlwain, LMSW, and Nicole Turner, LICSW, PIP, kicked off the week in Huntsville, AL, at the National Child Advocacy Center, attending a professional training to enhance the care we provide to our clients. 🧠📚

On Wednesday, we hit the road again—this time to South Choctaw Academy and Patrician Academy—where we had the opportunity to meet with teachers and staff to share valuable information about children’s and teens’ mental health, as well as the therapy services we offer at A Better You. 💬💛

We were joined by Anna Sims from the Regional Child Advocacy Center who educated teachers on the important work the CAC does to support and protect children in our communities. 👏

We are so thankful to both schools for their warm welcome and for allowing us the opportunity to collaborate, educate, and continue building a stronger network of support for our youth. 💙

🌟 Please help us welcome Bailey McIlwain, LMSW, to A Better You Counseling Services! 🌟

We are thrilled to have Bailey join our team! She brings passion and a heart for helping others. Bailey earned her Master of Social Work from The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) and is currently working toward certification in treating adolescents with problematic sexual behaviors.

Bailey has extensive experience working with children and has also volunteered with Christian Services, where she provided food and support to individuals experiencing homelessness. She completed a year-long training with Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (L.E.N.D.), further enhancing her skills in working with diverse populations.

At A Better You, Bailey will be working with children and teens who are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, behavioral challenges, ADHD, and more. She is currently completing her 96 hours of clinical supervision, after which she will be eligible to sit for her LICSW licensure.

You may even spot Bailey “around town” as she continues her mission to educate and advocate for mental health in our community.
