Working the week of Christmas—especially while your family is home—isn’t easy.
This week has reminded me more than ever that the holiday season isn’t joyful for everyone. For some, it can be incredibly hard. For those who are missing loved ones, for those struggling to make ends meet, and for the working moms who pour everything they have into creating a magical season for their children, even when time and energy feel impossible to find. And each year, it seems to get heavier. Schedules grow busier, expectations grow higher, and social media paints a picture of perfection that isn’t always real.
So this week, we made a conscious decision to bring a little extra joy to everyone who walked through our doors. On Monday, we wore our new Christmas shirts and created charm necklaces. Tuesday was ugly Christmas sweaters. Wednesday, Christmas pajamas and a few small surprises tucked into our stockings. These small, silly moments brought laughter to our staff and made working through a very busy holiday week a little lighter. And if it brightened even one person’s day that came to see us, then it was absolutely worth it.
Merry Christmas to those living in the sweetest season of life, and to those for whom this season feels heavy or difficult. We are praying for you all, and we hope you find joy in at least one small moment this holiday season.
Merry Christmas to all from Breah, Kendra, Kelli, Tobyn and Angela: the girls at Mathis Drug Store 🎄
