Pushing myself is hard.
I'm not an intrinsically motivated person by nature, so when things get hard, it's so easy for me to back off and gravitate toward what's easy or comfortable. (I'm actually to where I kinda hate that word... comfortable.)
Rachel Hollis says, don't break promises to yourself. While this statement has served me well over the last few years, it's something I still struggle with from time to time.
A friend sent me this exerpt from a book recently and it stung... like alot: "Vision-driven people are motivated people. Find me a man or woman who lacks motivation and I'll show you someone with little or no vision. Ideas, yes. Dreams, maybe. Vision, not a chance."
Not what I wanted to hear, but definitely something to consider.
In the gym, I love pushing myself to see just what my body can accomplish, but other areas, especially ones where maybe no one is "watching", now that's a different story.
So what's the solution? For now, at least, find someone to help keep you accountable, and get a VISION for what's to come.
