I am excited to share my latest podcast episode, marking the beginning of my podcast journey. This episode features a meaningful conversation with one of my favorite academic mentors and includes a memorial segment dedicated to one of my professional mentors.

The episode serves as a resource for anyone interested in the healing process following a total knee replacement, but it could also be aptly titled "Healing From The Academic World." Together with my guest, we explore various aspects of academia, highlighting the parallels between academic and clinical education.

I am deeply grateful to have been educated by both Dr. Carol Beckel and John Barnes. Although I didn't initially plan to feature them side by side in this episode, I am pleased with how it turned out.

Links to this episode will be in the comments. Thanks and happy holidays!

Yesterday I had the honor of interviewing, my friend, colleague , mentor, former professor, the Director of Clinical Education for the St. Louis University Physical Therapy Department Carol Beckel. I decked myself in SLU gear for the interview and I’m excited for you all to hear our conversation in a few weeks. If you know Carol you won’t want to miss her big announcement.

Every time I see Dr. Marshall Gevers Active Rehab Chiropractic I am blown away by his effective efficient and creative exercise exercises. Here’s what he has to say about this exercise in particular:

Lateral squat
“This exercise provides shear force to the lumbar spine and activates leg muscles in a lateral movement rather than the normal front to back of a squat. This is great for back pain as well as a great leg exercise!”
