If you’ve been recently diagnosed with breast cancer, you may be wondering, What is Cryoablation and is it right for me?

Cryoablation is a gentle, non-invasive procedure that uses a thin probe and extreme cold to freeze and destroy breast tumors. Under imaging guidance, the tumor is targeted precisely, and healthy breast tissue is preserved.

No general anesthesia, no hospital stay, and no change to your natural breast shape.

If you are exploring your options, Cryoablation may be worth learning more about.

Cryoablation offers more than a clinical outcome. It can help preserve routines, restore a sense of control, and ease the emotional load for both the patient and support system. Appointments are shorter, recovery is simpler, and life doesn’t have to be fully interrupted.

If someone you love is facing early-stage breast cancer, we can walk through options with you. You or your loved one doesn’t have to figure this out alone. 💬❄️📞

If you’re planning to travel for a procedure, we help coordinate every step so your visit goes as smoothly as possible. Many patients come from around the world to receive care in Los Angeles, and thoughtful planning helps make the process efficient and comfortable.

We help with:

✈️ Arrival timing: You’ll be advised to arrive at least one day before your procedure so we can review imaging, confirm the treatment plan, and answer any remaining questions.

🖥️ Imaging coordination: If additional imaging is needed or an ultrasound‑visible marker is required to guide treatment, we’ll help arrange these steps ahead of time.

👩‍⚕️ Pre‑ and post‑procedure visits: A follow‑up appointment is scheduled the morning after the procedure, and a virtual visit is arranged 1–2 weeks later to monitor your recovery.

🤝 Ongoing support: We coordinate with your local providers so your care transitions smoothly back home and imaging or follow‑up needs are clear.

We are here to support every part of your visit!

Clinical trials aren’t just about research, they are how new treatments like Cryoablation make their way into the future of cancer care. Every woman who chooses to participate in a trial is contributing to a larger story, one that can shift standard protocols, increase access, and expand what’s possible for others facing the same diagnosis.

Cryoablation has been studied in national trials like FROST and ICE3, helping to establish its safety, efficacy, and long-term outcomes. These trials gave women a chance to be treated in a way that aligned with their goals and helped researchers gather critical evidence that continues to move the field forward.

If you’re curious about the research behind Cryoablation or what options may be available to you, I’d be happy to walk through it with you.🔬🧊

After Cryoablation, your body enters a natural and gradual healing process. It’s completely normal to notice some temporary swelling or bruising in the treated area, this typically peaks within a few days and then begins to settle. These effects are a sign that your immune system is doing exactly what it’s designed to do: process and clear the frozen tumor tissue over time.

One of the benefits of this approach is how gently it works with your body. As healing continues, the treated area is absorbed internally without causing a sunken or altered shape to the breast. The structure remains intact, preserving the natural look and feel you know.

Recovery doesn’t have to mean giving up comfort or confidence. Cryoablation supports both. ❄️🩹📈

As a breast surgical oncologist, I’ve spent over 20 years working to advance Cryoablation as a safe, minimally invasive treatment for breast cancer. I’ve led and co-led national clinical trials, developed patient selection protocols, and performed thousands of Cryoablation procedures across a range of diagnoses, including invasive cancer, DCIS, and fibroadenomas.

My work is deeply rooted in research, education, and improving access. I regularly speak at international conferences, contribute to peer-reviewed publications, and collaborate with providers and health systems to integrate Cryoablation into standard care pathways. I’m passionate about helping patients preserve their natural shape, sense of self, and intimate quality of life while treating their disease effectively.

I believe in the power of data, advocacy, and community to drive change. I am also committed to making this option more accessible to patients everywhere. ❄️🧬📈

Cryoablation is a gentle, minimally invasive option for breast cancer treatment. This procedure uses a Cryoprobe to deliver extremely cold temperatures directly to the tumor under imaging guidance. Liquid nitrogen flows through the probe, creating an ice ball that freezes and destroys the cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue nearby.

This precise freeze–thaw cycle is carefully planned and monitored to be both effective and gentle, preserving the natural shape of the breast without general anesthesia or a hospital stay.

If you’ve been diagnosed and want to understand all your options, connect with us to see if Cryoablation may be right for you.📍💬

The recent FDA approval of the ProSense cryoprobe for breast cancer Cryoablation is an important development in expanding treatment options for qualifying patients. This approval currently applies to women aged 70 and older with low-risk, hormone-sensitive, HER2/neu-negative invasive ductal carcinoma measuring 1.5 cm or less.

Although coverage is limited to hospital-based settings and only includes the technical cost, ongoing studies and future billing code updates aim to increase access and reimbursement across more settings. We’re proud to contribute to this next phase of data collection and care.

Every step matters, and we’re walking it with purpose.

The impact of breast cancer doesn’t end with treatment. For many women, it touches every part of how they feel in their body and in their relationships. Intimacy can feel uncertain, especially when there are changes to appearance or sensation.

Cryoablation offers an approach that helps preserve the natural shape and appearance of the breast, with minimal disruption to how you look or feel in your skin. That can make a real difference in how women experience closeness and navigate relationships during recovery.

Protecting your body doesn’t mean disconnecting from it. For many women, this treatment path helps preserve a deeper sense of self, one that includes softness, strength, and the freedom to stay present with the people they love. 🤍🌿
