CLASSES:
“Dancing with the Rhythms”
Our lives are made up of rhythms - breath, heartbeat, hormone cycles, circadian rhythms, seasons and others.
Chinese Five Element / Five Rhythms Theory reflects a deep understanding of the Universal order underlying all things in our world. Humans are not separate from the Universe and as such, we are also deeply impacted by nature and the Universe.
The Five Rhythms provide a framework for understanding how nature interacts with the body and how different dimensions of our being impact each other.
All natural phenomena is organized into 5 elements or phases: Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal.
Each phase includes categories such as season, direction, climate, stage of growth, internal organs, body tissues, emotions, aspects of the soul, taste, color and sound.
Understanding the 5 elements then allows us to live a more balanced, health filled and vibrant life.
Join me in this deep exploration of the Five Rhythms and how we can use this philosophy to live peaceful, health-filled lives in harmony with nature. We will explore food, herbs and simple ancient movement practices that will enhance our physical and emotional well being. There will be recipes for each season/element made available as well as ample tastings of herbs and foods that help bring balance to our system throughout the year.
