I’m sad to share that this was my reality today. Except it didn’t feel like reality it felt like a nightmare. We are safe but not ok. Our sense of safety has been taken away today. I am heartbroken and heartened by the outpouring of love and care and concern and saddened by the reality that we are now part of an ever growing community of school shooting survivors. More love, more compassion, more talking please. Less hatred, judgement and yelling. Our kids need to know that we are taking their wellbeing seriously - we are invested in making the world a kinder place. Please hug your loved ones closer, reach out to someone you haven’t spoken to in a while, and think about how to help those around you who are struggling the most. With love and lots of gratitude ❤️

Talk about starting from scratch. No where to go but up I suppose and I guess a different kind of reset than what I was looking for. More rest, one day at a time, and a need to reconnect with my positive attitude. 🙃
