Image: a page from a book of poetry, sharing the poem Life After Death by Laura Gilpin. "These things I know: How the living go on living and how the dead go on living with them, so that in a forest even a dead tree casts a shadow and the leaves fall one by one, and the branches break, and the bark peels off slowly, and the trunk cracks and the rain seeps through the cracks, and the trunk falls to the ground, and the moss covers it. And in the spring, the rabbits find it and build their nest inside the dead tree so that nothing is wasted in nature or in love."

Our next GBH Mindful Grieving series begins on Sunday, October 9th from 6pm to 8pm MT. We will meet on Zoom each Sunday night for 6 weeks as we move through the Grief Support Network's beautiful "Awakening Through Grief" curriculum.

Each session is run by me, Rachel Kaplan, and features a trauma-aware facilitated sharing circle, guided meditation, and very gentle yoga that can be done in a chair or even in a bed if that is where you are joining us from. No yoga experience is necessary. All are lovingly welcomed to simply "Come as you are."

Just a bit about me: I am an end-of-life doula, a certified nurse assistant, and a yoga teacher specializing in Adaptive Yoga, Yoga for Amputees, Accessible Yoga, and Yoga Therapy for Grief. I have over 1000 hours of formal training in many types of yoga and I am trained in a method of trauma-aware facilitation that supports group reflection practices. I have a background as a disability advocate for 14 years before I joined Guided By Humanity as a yoga teacher and program manager. I am passionate about helping people as they move through transitions in life because I believe there is beauty, meaning, and wholeness at every stage of our lives.

If you are interested in joining but have some questions, please reach out to me at rachel@guidedbyhumanity.org

Join Rachel tonight in our Virtual Community Support series, starting at 7pm MT. This offering is designed for folks- especially caregivers- who are struggling to cope with compassion fatigue, isolation, stress and grief.

Participants can expect a facilitated sharing circle, mindfulness tools for coping, and gentle yoga for tension release.

Everything that Rachel offers in this group is accessible and perfect for people who are brand new to mindfulness, as well as seasoned yogis.

Hello! I'm only one person and not too great at managing all the things in the realm of social media so I haven't kept up with this page very well. You can find what I am up to at Guided By Humanity (Colorado's first non-profit inclusive accessible yoga studio) and at the One Strength Community page, right here on Facebook.
