On Saturday, Feb. 14, Grand Junction Blackout hosted a high school freshman basketball tournament.

Blackout founder Dean Havlik said that it’s exciting to offer such a quality basketball venue for youngsters.

“We mostly focus on middle-age school kids but we’ve been doing high school activities, and we want to do more high school activities,” he said during the tournament. “This venue is awesome for that and we’re excited to provide that.

“There’s no place like this on the Western Slope. It’s great for all these teams from all over Colorado to come play in something like this (venue).”
