About the Event:
Join the ASPP program at Dominican University of California for our Masterclass with Kacey Gibson, MA, CMPC. This Masterclass is approved by the Continuing Education Committee (CEC) of AASP (Association for Applied Sport Psychology) for 2 Ethics CEUs.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a future concept but a present-day reality, rapidly integrating into athlete assessment, performance monitoring, and mental skills training. While these tools offer unprecedented opportunities for personalization and accessibility, they also introduce significant ethical challenges that every Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC®) must navigate. This masterclass provides a comprehensive framework for understanding and ethically applying AI in sport and performance psychology.
Through the examination of real-world case scenarios, participants will analyze the complex ethical dilemmas surrounding AI-driven coaching, team-based mental health monitoring, and automated psychological assessments. We will delve into the core ethical principles of bias and fairness, confidentiality, informed consent, and professional accountability when AI is involved. Key discussions will focus on balancing technological innovation with the irreplaceable value of the human relationship, ensuring client autonomy is respected, and establishing clear lines of responsibility when systems make errors.
