Emily is a trained postpartum doula, with advanced education on working with multiples. She has helped families with education and relief care in day and overnight positions. She loves helping parents feel confident in themselves and their choices within their fourth trimester. Emily is a Midwest native who has been working with babies her entire life. Being the youngest of eight children, Emily grew up with the unique perspective of seeing the beginnings of many new families. Often being called the family's "baby whisperer", she always knew she would work with young children. After high school, Emily worked in her chosen field of Early Childhood Education with an emphasis on infants and toddlers. She received her Early Childhood Associate in 2013. She has worked in several childcare positions, but her favorite and most educational was an Infant and Toddler only facility. Here she took several courses on respectful infant care (RIE method) and high scope training. After the birth of her third child, Emily suffered severe Postpartum Depression and Anxiety. Working with her Maternal Mental Health Specialist, she found her passion for postpartum care. In 2015, she trained as a postpartum doula with CAPPA and shortly after started seeing clients. In 2019 she added to her skill set by training in advanced care of multiples (CAPPA). Since then she has worked with several families of twins and has a knack for sibling care. Emily is a mother to five children, a wife, a CrossFit enthusiast, and a self taught home renovator. In her spare time you will find her at the gym, listening to a podcast, and definitely chasing down her two youngest boys!
