📣 Friends of rural creativity: This past year has asked a lot of us, a lot from our field, our communities, our nervous systems, and our hearts. It has been a year shaped by uncertainty, loss, fatigue… and fierce love. Our 2025 theme was “Forward Focus,” and that sentiment kept us moving our mission forward with steadfast clarity as we navigated the bumps on our country’s road.

Together we saw:
✨ Over 2,600 neighbors gather for 80+ events at The YES! House in Granite Falls, from Pride celebrations to open mics, artist salons, and more.

✨ Ignite Rural invested $76,000+ directly into BIPOC & Native artists, backing their leadership where they live.

✨ Activate Rural released the Activate Rural Atlas and celebrated creative placemaking projects that leveraged $537,000+ in follow-on funding from a $125,000 investment.

✨ Beyond the Clock expanded fellowship and storytelling with new podcasts and an album that magnifies rural voices.

Since our start, DoPT has now distributed more than $1.3M directly to rural artists & communities, proof that when rural people are trusted with resources, possibilities blossom.

💜 We are stepping into 2026 with Courage & Care: courage to keep imagining rural futures, and care for one another as we build them.
