It’s simple, but not always easy. Your thoughts create your emotions. So let’s work on that.

But also, if your nervous system is dysregulated, it will be harder to change your thoughts.

If you consistently calm your nervous system, your thoughts are easier to manage, which means you’re able to have more positive emotions and feel better on a regular basis!

Dysregulation = harder to manage thoughts = more stress

Regulation + thought management = Happier!

Regulation means getting your body out of a stress response. The more you practice this, the better it works!

A few regulation techniques I like:
*Breathe (watch a video if you need guidance)
*EFT Tapping (I like Brad Yatesn on YouTube)
*Somatic exercises (go follow
*Rest
*Play
**Thought Work (my specialty!)

It’s simple, but not always easy. Your thoughts create your emotions. So let’s work on that.

“I haven’t felt happiness in a really long time.”

-What do you think gets in the way of you feeling happy?

“Myself”

-How?

“I think that I worry a lot. I worry about my kids and want them to be happy. I want people to see me happy. I used to be happy and fun and loving, and ALL OF THAT IS GONE NOW.”

Can you relate to my client?

I know I’ve felt this way too. She didn’t know what to do. She felt hopeless.

“I want myself to come back, I just don’t know how to get there.”

As the session went on she realized she’s blocking her own happiness with self-judgment, self-disappointment, self-betrayal. 

We kept talking…

Then she said “it felt like I didn't have any hope. Now I feel like I've got some tools that I can work with.”

She also shared “And 'they're' not answering my questions… like how do I make myself happy? Well, you've answered that in just one session here.”

I’m amazed and grateful that I get to facilitate moments like this over and over.

In the last 9 months I’ve experienced a nervous system crash of sorts. It’s been extremely painful and confusing.

The things that always worked for me stopped working. I had to learn new skills. And now I realize how important it is to take care of your nervous system. I hope to help you avoid ever having to experience what I experienced.

I teach and coach on the fact the your thoughts create your emotions. That’s 100% true. But I’ve now learned that the state of your nervous system greatly impacts the type of thoughts your brain will offer you.

If you are in fight or flight, your thoughts will be more desperate and urgent and dire. It makes sense, and nothing is wrong. We just need to calm down and regulate the nervous system. Then it will be easier to manage your thoughts and have control over how you feel.

I'm learning to trust myself.
To not look outside of me to decide what feels right for me.

To not seek OUTSIDE VALIDATION about
the clothes I wear
the food I eat
the way I dance
the way I parent
the way I paint
the way I rest
the way I love my husband
the way I connect with people
the way I connect with God...

I get to decide what is right for me

I decide. I decide. I decide

I forget this often as it's not how I've lived most of my life, but I'm trying

I trust myself to try...
to make decisions
to try new things
to practice listening to my Intuition

And I trust myself to make mistakes as I learn and grow

I trust that I can handle my big emotions... even when it feels like I'm going to die 🔥 (because it's this crazy cycle of death and rebirth)

I trust myself. I decide.

We are constantly getting mixed messages about what our bodies should look like. A mother focused on size and dieting, pregnancy, po*******hy, a constantly changing body… so relatable whether or not you have children. As women our bodies are constantly changing as our hormones shift and as we get older. Stress, injury, the business of life… the constant demands on us to show up and perform.

I'm so proud of myself. Starting a podcast was one of those things I never thought I could do.

I had all sorts of reason why...
"I'm not a good writer"
"I could never do something like that"
"I don't know how"
"What would I even talk about?"

But I pushed myself... over and over... to take just one step. Figure one thing out. I got coaching on my thoughts and mindset. I PRACTICED believing in myself.

And now here it is!! And I love it so much that I don't need anybody else to love it. I've validated myself. Any outside validation is just a big bonus!!

Every episode will get published with a prayer that the people who need that episode will hear it ❤️

I find myself doing this... wanting to find happiness in other people or experiences.

But happiness is fleeting and slippery if its not generated from the inside first ❤️

Really knowing who you are createdms a happiness that just sticks... even when hard things happen.

Happiness is available to you RIGHT NOW no matter what.

Are you ready to really know yourself? It's so so good on the inside.

Two things can happen...
1. Your brain offers you the worst case scenario for a situation to help you worry and stay stuck.
2. Your brain offers you worry about a situation, but when you think about it the worst case scenario isn't that bad and your worry is unnecessary.
Either way... your brain offers worry so that you can stay stuck (aka safe)

“My kids are a huge trigger for me, as much as it upsets me to say. Everything feels like too much.” 😢

This sweet mom was so judgmental of herself, so hard on herself, for something that is really normal.

These babies don’t come with instructions or on/off switches.

Their needs don’t ask if you’ve had enough sleep or feel mentally ready to take on another day. It’s really frustrating and hard and that’s ok.

Let’s not make it harder by judging ourselves for feeling those emotions. It’s ok.  YOU are ok. You’re not doing it wrong.

I can teach you how to not feel upset with every little thing. I can teach you how to handle the unexpected. I can teach you how to love when it’s hard. I can teach you how to handle the anger. I can teach you how to love yourself through the ups and downs. I can teach you how to ask for the help that you need.

You aren’t broken, you just don’t have all the tools in your toolbelt. You have a hammer, but you can’t paint with a hammer. I will give you all the tools you need to feel happy and fulfilled in your current life. Those people don’t have to change. Your kids don’t have to change. Your husband doesn't have to change.
