In the last 3 years and some months, Lucas has endured hundreds of chemos between infusions in his port, Intrathecal chemos and chemo pills. He’s lost his sweet little blonde hair miltiple times. He has been on steroids that have had him up at ALL hours trying to eat any and every thing, and thrown up from nausea as a regular occurrence. He has had hospital stays that lasted for weeks and had him and mommy begging to go home.
The things this child has endured in the last few years an yet still finds reasons to celebrate amazes me.
Watching him through his cancer treatments and side effects literally broke me over and over again as a mom, but watching him survive and thrive, has been amazing.
It is so hard to believe this phase in our lives is finally getting close to an end.
Lucas will ring his bell tomorrow at the hospital signaling the end of his chemotherapy for good!

It’s almost party day for Lucas! He is so beyond excited!
Bring your lawn chairs and hang out! There will be plenty of fun! We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone!

This sweet guy is going to have his LAST chemo infusion tomorrow.
We will have his vinichristine infusion tomorrow, then he will have a 5 day rounds of steroids and oral chemo and he will be done done done!!
We could use specific prayers that his port works like it should tomorrow and doesn’t cause long delays or extra pain and frustration for Lucas.

We have a “SUPER” NO MO CHEMO Party in the works!
Block out the date for Saturday November 22nd bc we are celebrating hard at Bradley Baptist Church. 10-4, drop in or stay as long as you’d like! More details to come.

Lucas slept late yesterday and woke up with a lot of nausea. He threw up off and on all day yesterday and didn’t eat all day except a few bites of peas.
He was so excited to get to camp sunshine tho and it’s all he talked about.
We got here yesterday evening and he was fine up until time for dinner. He drank some tea but still didn’t feel like trying to eat anything.
He threw up all of his tea and then was miserable. We left the big kids to hang out and I brought Lucas back to our cabin. He cried for a bit then snuggled me and fell asleep.
I’m praying he will wake up today feeling much better.
