Finding Your Fit Hi, we are Haylie and Sia. Just two average girls who love trying new fun ways to integrate fitness into our crazy lifestyles.

Didn’t get much movement in this past Sunday so we decided to take an evening walk outside! We, of course, were extra careful and avoided other people. Sometimes some fresh air therapy is just what you need to lift your spirits during a challenging time ☀️🌳. Who else got a walk (or run 🏃‍♀️) in this weekend?

Something I didn’t prepare for when I started lifting heavier...
Getting used to a new body.

•
I always thought my body had to look ONE way to be beautiful: Thin arms, tiny waist, dainty legs. I felt scared to lift heavier and put on any form of “bulk.”
•
•
I was talking to my mom last week about how some days, I’m a little uncomfortable with how my body has changed. I’ve put on some muscle, a little fat, and with strength has come a different shape.
“I look different,” I said.
“You look HEALTHY,” my mom replied.
And as mothers usually are, she was right.
•
•
Although it’s taking time, I’m learning to retrain my brain to love my changing and growing body. Each day I’m feeling stronger and more beautiful. 💜
•
•
Has anyone else struggled with loving their changes?

Don’t forget to take time out of your busy schedule this season to do things you love!

On top of sticking to our fitness routine, Haylie and I have practiced self care through movies, wreath making, and spending quality time together!

What do you do to practice self care and avoid the stress of the holiday season? 💜

Ax throwing is a lot more exhausting than it looks!

This weekend I filmed for a travel show I produced called We did all sorts of active experiences but this one was most deceiving.

At first we all tried to throw the ax as hard as we could but we realized it’s all about letting the ax slip through our grip to hit the target.

How many times do we think we have to lift really heavy, or sprint on the treadmill when we have not worked up to it? It’s your workout! Take it at the speed you want and enjoy your time. It’s not about going as hard as you can to make up for all the days you weren’t in the gym. Take it one workout, 1 day at a time and before you know it you will be on target.

This is me, post run, dying on the front steps of my in-laws’ porch. It’s SO easy for me to get in my head and become discouraged:
“Sia, why are you getting excited about 3 miles? There are people posting about their marathons... Besides, you’re not fast, and you’re not really getting any better...”
•
•
STOP🛑
•
•
Stop comparing your victories to other people’s victories. No matter how small an accomplishment may seem, you’re getting excited about it for a REASON.
•
•
All through high school, my mile time was well over 10 minutes. Once I hit the 1 mile mark, it was all over. I couldn’t have run 2 miles to save my life! So yeah, I may not be running marathons... or even half marathons... but 3 miles is something I NEVER thought I could do. I hope you take today to celebrate yourself wherever you are!

“Accountability is my motivator”

The holiday season is all about spending time with friends and family so why not keep each other motivated? There are so many places you and your accountability buddy can go workout, grab a coffee after class and chat.

How do you like spending time with friends?

Just a little post arm workout, baby bicep, bathroom mirror selfie to start your Monday morning.

Don’t forget, hard does NOT mean impossible. Some days in your fitness journey are going to be whole lot harder than others...and that’s ok! Just keep putting one foot (or arm in this case 😂) in front of the other. You’re SO much stronger than you think.
•
•
Who else is getting their Monday workout in?? 👇🏻

What does it mean to live “above the norm?” To me, it’s not about being THE best, it’s about being YOUR best. In today’s society, “the norm” is not living up to your full potential. It’s “normal” to settle. It’s “normal” to quit on yourself. Well... I hope you’ll join me in refusing to live that way.
•
•
How do YOU strive to be above the norm? ☝🏻🔥
