Back in early 2023, as I began envisioning what I wanted the studio lobby to look and feel like, I came across an artist .co. I was immediately drawn to her work and was especially taken by the two prints that have been hanging in our lobby since May 2023 (swipe for photo / quotes in comments)
In a world that feels loud, divided and heartbreaking, these words have never felt more true.
We believe in standing for spaces where every body, every story and every season of life is met with care.
Where you don’t have to earn your place. Where nothing about who you are disqualifies you from belonging.
Where we choose care over cruelty, connection over isolation and courage over silence.
Where movement is medicine and your full humanity is welcome, even when the news makes it hard to breathe.
This studio exists as a Third Place beyond home and work where you can feel safe to show up exactly as you are and as you are not.
Love,
Mia

“Come on in. Take off your coat & shoes and all of the stress and burdens that the day has placed on your shoulders. It won’t always be easy here but it will always be safe...A place for you to be your truest and most authentic self - even the not-so-shiny parts. Laugh, cry, be quiet, be angry, be silly...ask your questions & dream your dreams. there is room for it all. Every Bit.”
“If you are searching, saved, black, brown, white, gay, straight, sure, unsure, older, younger, peace-filled, pain-filled, able bodied or differently abled, no matter how many moms or dads or divorces or kids or chromosomes, or failures or successes or questions you have... no matter your gender or status or where you are from, know that you are welcome here.”
