A HUGE shout out to the Life Fit, Inc. Community, The Yoga Connection volunteers, and Christ United Methodist Church Women’s Bible study for donating fresh foods and pantry items for week 1 of TYC Spring 2026 take home grocery bags. Area food pantries are low and this is a great way to care for our new arrival friends 💗✨TYC weekly words for language learning so far this season have been: HERE, RISE, and CHANGE - we are GROWing together and deeply grateful for all the support 🙏🙌See the post message below on how to donate food goods in the coming weeks!

A gentle reminder to our community 💛
Over the next few weeks, we are focusing on collecting donations for our Takeaway Bags, which directly support the women in our program. These small bags carry care, dignity, and practical support — and your help truly makes a difference.

If you have items to donate, you are welcome to drop them off at 12:30 PM at the door of the Fellowship Hall. This allows for an easy, quiet drop-off without needing to enter the classroom during training time.

Our volunteers and donors are such an important part of this work, and we are so grateful for your continued support and kindness.

This week began in a way that felt deeply symbolic. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I had the opportunity to witness—with Life Fit friends and alongside MANY people from Greensboro—the Tibetan Monks as they passed through our city on their Walk for Peace. In the stillness of winter, and on a day devoted to justice, compassion, and collective responsibility, it felt profoundly auspicious. A reminder that peace is not passive. It is practiced—step by step, breath by breath, AND together. In our classes this week, we shared and practiced some of what the monks imparted in their address to our community (and to the world). In particular was a present moment awareness practice to “come home to yourself, to know what to do.”
In light of how our week has ended in the US, may we find our voices and take our stand in the urgency of collective efforts toward Peace. Monks don’t leave their country haphazardly - they are here because we stand at a precipice of needing to take a strong turn toward Peace as a society.
