For years, I thought Thanksgiving was about being grateful for what I had. I now know it’s more about being thankful for who I have become.

~

For years, I compared myself to others’ outsides and accomplishments. I now know you can only compare yourself to yourself – no one else on the same journey.

~

For years, I valued the things I thought I “should” want: spouse, children, house. I now know I am always “home” in myself and have love, laughter, and joy in everyday moments.

~

For years, I thought it was about holding it all together. I now know you sometimes have to let things fall apart in order to build it back stronger.

~

For years, I felt sorry for myself for becoming addicted to Adderall, going to rehab, suffering a still birth, not being married, having no living children. I now know every difficult event happened for me — creating the the foundation from which my authenticity thrives from.

~

For years, I didn’t understand the power of self talk, my breath, and my ability to move. I now know they are everything.

~

This Thanksgiving, take time to reflect on what past versions of yourself wanted/valued and see how it compares to your current view. If it’s changed then congratulations - that means you’ve grown! And THAT is the point of it all!

~

Thankful for your attention + intention. Cheering you on every breath of the way!
