Let’s clear this up… soy is NOT the enemy. 🌱

A common misconception is that soy increases breast cancer risk because it contains phytoestrogens.

But here’s what we actually know:

There are two types of estrogen receptors in the body. alpha and beta.
➡️ Estrogen (our natural hormone) tends to stimulate alpha receptors, which can promote cell growth.
➡️ Soy phytoestrogens primarily bind to beta receptors, which have a more protective, anti-estrogen effect.

In other words… soy doesn’t act like estrogen in the body the way many people think.

This understanding isn’t new, we’ve had this data for over a decade.

So where did the fear come from?
👉 Early studies in mice… which don’t translate well to humans.

✔️ Current evidence shows that whole soy foods (like tofu, edamame, tempeh) are safe, and may even be beneficial, including for many women with a history of breast cancer.

As always, context matters. Whole foods > processed.
