Join us Wednesday, November 12th from 6:30 to 8:00pm at the Warren-Newport Public Library for a free presentation on "Dyslexia Basics".
Everyone Reading Illinois board members will provide a general overview of dyslexia and a hands-on experience designed to increase awareness regarding the difficulties and frustrations people with dyslexia and related learning disabilities encounter daily.
Topics related to dyslexia and language-based learning disabilities will be discussed, including underlying deficit areas common in students with dyslexia, early screening, assessment, effective interventions, appropriate accommodations and modifications, and helpful resources.
The interactive Dyslexia Simulation takes place following the Dyslexia Basics presentation and will include multiple stations with varying activities through which participants rotate.
This workshop is sponsored by Warren-Newport Public Library in Gurnee, Illinois, Warren Special Recreation Association and Warren Township Youth and Family Services.

This week, therapist Ashley, along with clinical interns Emma & Faith, wrapped up their 8-week Worry Less Warriors anxiety group for kids! 💪✨

Throughout the group, participants learned about anxiety and practiced valuable skills like problem-solving, relaxation techniques and cognitive restructuring to help manage anxious thoughts and feelings.

QPR is an internationally recognized su***de intervention program designed to help you have a conversation with someone having thoughts of su***de. You will be trained to recognize su***de warning signs, approach someone who may be at risk, persuade the person to seek appropriate services, and connect the person to resources that will help.
