August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day. The CDC estimates that 80,000 people in the U.S. lost their lives to drug overdoses last year. Overdose can affect anyone, and awareness saves lives. Know the signs to spot an overdose: -Slow or no breathing -Unconsciousness -Pale, cold, or blue skin/lips -Gurgling or choking sounds If you see these signs:
-Call 911 immediately
-Administer naloxone (Narcan) if available
-Stay with the person until help arrives

We're coming together to reduce stigma, raise awareness, and support those affected. 💜

Did you know? 🤔 The red “Rx” symbol comes from the Latin word recipe, which means “take this.” 💊 Back in medieval times, doctors would write “Rx” at the start of prescriptions to tell pharmacists what ingredients to “take” and prepare. Some also believe the symbol traces back to Jupiter’s symbol (♃), thought to bring good health and protection. In other words: It's a small symbol with a big history! 🩺



