Whole body wellness is critical to our overall health. Knowing exactly what we put into and onto our bodies frees our mind from worries! While promoting environmental consciousness at work at a coffee shop, I began collecting the used coffee grounds for use in my compost. A little research quickly revealed that I could use these grounds directly in my garden, but more interestingly, as an exfoliant for my skin. I put some in the bathroom. I sprinkled some around my doorways to deter ants from coming near; a bowl in the freezer kept out unwanted odors, a bit by the sink helped to clean my hands after working in the garden, and after working with pungent foods; I used them to create a dye, and tye dyed a few old shirts. That December I used peppermint essential oil to create gifts for family members- peppermint pick me up spritzer, cooling/warming lotion, delicious peppermint bark, and a naturally healing peppermint tea. This was where experiessence began, and my recipes flowed naturally. The skin is the largest organ in our body. It protects our internal organs from the wear and tear of everyday life and it is important to protect it. We should conscious consumers, and educate ourselves as to what we are putting into and onto our bodies. Over the years I have carefully selected natural and organic ingredients to develop my skin food product line. Using herbs, flowers, waxes, and plant butters & oils enables me to create products that are not only good for our bodies, but also beneficial to the world and environment in which we live.
