🦃 Just a few Thanksgiving Safety Reminders for this week:
As we gather with family and friends, please keep safety in mind whether you’re traveling, cooking or celebrating at home.
• Never leave cooking food unattended
• Keep kids and pets away from hot surfaces
• Stay alert when using turkey fryers
• Drive sober and distraction-free
Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday week!

is so close we can almost taste it! If you're thawing a frozen , make sure it's in the fridge, not on the counter. And when you're ready to , don't wash the bird. That can spread germs in your sink and on your counters. Finally, while the aroma may suggest it's done, make sure your turkey is cooked to 165 degrees. 📢 Friendly Community Update: St. Al's Food Pantry Can Still Use a Hand 📢

Where have you gone? Donations have slowed; the need has not.

As we head into the holiday season, our local food pantries are seeing more neighbors stopping in for support. A few different factors—like delays in SNAP benefits, the cost of groceries and housing, and more first-time families seeking help—are creating extra demand this year.

If you’re able, please consider donating non-perishable food items. Even small acts of kindness go a long way and truly make a difference for local families.

Let’s come together and support one another this season. ❤️

Let’s make a commitment to connect! 💬
It’s Social Connection Awareness Week (November 9–15, 2025) — a reminder that small actions can make a big difference in reducing loneliness and strengthening our communities.

Here are a few simple ways to start:
🤝 Call a friend or family member to check in
👋 Say hi to someone new
💌 Write a “thank you” card
💪 Volunteer or join a local group

Together, we can build stronger, healthier, more connected communities.

Strong connections start with simple commitments. This Social Connection Awareness Week, make a commitment to connect:
• Call a friend or family member and check-in
• Spend time with people from different generations
• Write a “thank you” card or share your appreciation for others
• Volunteer or join a local group
• Say “hi” to someone new

Small steps lead to stronger bonds, healthier lives, and more connected communities. Let’s commit to connection—together.

Today we recognize Veterans Day and thank all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Our community is home to many veterans and military families whose service and experience continue to make a difference every day!

This Veterans Day, we remember and honor the sacrifices veterans gave for our country.

Our NAMI Staff and HelpLine volunteers are off to commemorate this day - but support is still here for you. If you are a military service member, contact the Military Helpline. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or visit chat.988lifeline.org

Visit nami.org/homefront to learn about additional resources for veterans and their families.

DHS is fighting to get November FoodShare benefits out to members. However, benefits will continue to be delayed. The federal government must release the funds before we can issue benefits.

These are difficult times for many in our community as the shutdown continues to affect access to food and support.

Hopeful and compassionate:
