Haleyville City Schools will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026, due to the potential for hazardous road conditions caused by ice!

The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. Out of an abundance of caution, we are providing advance notice to allow families and employees time to make necessary arrangements.

We encourage everyone to remain vigilant, prioritize safety, and monitor official school communication channels for additional updates.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Don't forget - we offer ear piercing for children 6 months of age and older! ✨
Our earrings are made from medical plastic- this is a great option because it significantly decreases the risk of allergy since there is 0% nickel in our earrings!
Your child must meet the following requirements to have your child’s ears pierced with us:
• Be a patient of Goar Pediatrics
• Be at least 6 months of age or older
• Be up to date on tetanus and hepatitis B immunizations
• Be cooperative for piercing
Cost is $100 for both ears!
Call us for more information! 🤩

🚗❄️ Winter Car Seat Safety Reminder ❄️🚗

As temperatures drop, it’s important to remember that bulky winter coats can actually make car seats less safe for children. Thick coats can prevent the harness from fitting snugly, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

👉 Safety tip:
Remove bulky coats before buckling your child into their car seat. After securing the harness properly, you can place the coat or a blanket over the straps to keep them warm.

A properly fitted harness should pass the “pinch test” — if you can pinch extra fabric at the shoulder, it’s too loose.

Your child’s safety is worth the extra step. If you have questions about car seat safety, feel free to ask our team at your next visit! 💙

Respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV, can be dangerous for all infants and young children, especially if your baby is premature, has chronic lung disease, or weakened immune system. As a mom of a baby who was admitted to Children’s Hospital at 3 months old with RSV, I know how scary it is to watch your baby struggle to breath!

Back to School & Sick Season Reminder 🍎🚌
As kids head back to school, we often see an increase in colds, flu, and stomach viruses. To help keep our schools, families, and community healthy, please remember to keep your child home if they are sick. 😴🤧

If your child has a fever, they should stay home until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
If your child is vomiting, they should remain home for 24 hours after their last episode and return only once they are able to stay well hydrated.

Keeping sick children home helps limit the spread of illness and gives them time to fully recover.

☎️ As always, we are here if you need us! Give us a call at 205-782-1912!
