🤝 Collaboration Over Competition 🐾
Molly was going on a hike with her recently adopted family when an unexpected interaction with another dog spooked her. In an instant, she was gone.
Her owners searched frantically into the night. They even slept in their car near the spot she bolted from, hoping she’d circle back. But she didn’t.
Reaves was contacted the next day but was tied up, so we were asked if we could help out. Even though this was farther than we typically travel, we couldn’t leave her out there alone. We loaded up and headed down.
Because we didn’t have the waiver needed to launch from the ideal location, we had to set up nearly a mile from the search area. Anyone who flies drones knows what that means — batteries disappear fast. It was a LONG night! But we found her safe and sound…right at the very edge of our range.
We attempted to reposition to improve coverage in case she ran during recovery, but without the proper waiver there simply wasn’t a better launch site. By the time we reset from a mile out, a few deer had moved through and pushed Molly out of her bed — and out of our range.
That’s where teamwork kicked in.
Kylie got the family set up with a trap and clear trapping instructions. The next morning, Reaves was able to launch from a much better location using his waiver. He made short work of relocating her, though the immediate ground recovery attempt wasn’t successful.
But here’s the key — two days of coordinated drone intel gave the data needed for proper trap placement.
The next morning, Molly caught a whiff of the bait… and walked right in.
Safe. Secure. Back with her new loving family.
This is what it looks like when professionals work together instead of against each other.
Different tools. Different waivers. Same goal.
One dog home. 🐶❤️

An awesome quick recovery this evening on Bella. We received a message this morning about a 4 month old pup named Bella who went missing the night before in bethel ohio. The owners tried locating her on their own but after trying they knew they needed some help and had us come out. We made the longer drive out to bethel and when we arrived Bella has been out for 25 hours at this moment. I asked my few questions I always ask to get some clues and put the drone up to work. We flew to the last area where she was seen and was checking things out. Thermals were incredible as heavy overcast the last few days we could see squirrels a few hundred yards away with no issues. These are days us drive drone operators dream about. We decided to start on this tree line when we could see a heat signal and it was Bella curled up in a ball trying to stay warm! When the family approached Bella wasn't having it at first as she ran a short distance but sat down in the gravel driveway. Linsey then took the lead and slowly approached Bella. Bella was holding there so I knew we had a shot and after a minute it was all wagging tail and wiggle butt from there. Bella was so happy to see mom and went right to her. Bella is now back home warm where she belongs.

Last night we were fortunate enough to locate Yeti a missing cat for 2 days. Yeti slipped out the door without undetected like most cats do. Owners searched everywhere but cats are so hard to find so they decided to bring us in for a try. Cats are typically pretty close so we will cover within a easy walk over and over then start expanding. It was a good night as the first hour we found a ton of cats. Had to be 15 or more which is pretty typical in some areas. Once we had the close area covered we started to expand. We did get a tip that Yeti was possible spotted 5 houses down so we started covering that area even more and to our excitement there Yeti was finally came out from hiding. Owner made the walk over and it was so awesome when Yeti seen his dad. He started wagging his tail like a dog and went running right to him. It was a great moment and Yeti is home where he belongs.

Nora is home after a short night out on the town! Nora is a young 6 month old pup looking to run and she seen her chance and went for it. Owners gave us a call after about 1 hour of searching and didn't want to wait any longer with all the rain coming tonight. Getting on a search that quick gives us our best opportunity to get a pup back quick. So Becca and I pushed our valentine dinner date back so I could get over there and get this pup home. On the 2nd battery we found her along the creek just hanging out. Owner made the short drive over but getting her back wasn't easy. Nora and to cross a creek and go up a very steep incline to get to mom. It's took Nora a couple tries as she kept falling back into the creek but on the last try Nora stepped back got a good running start and she was able to get to mom. Great way to end the night.

Lulu is home after a 24 hour journey! Lulu was let out to p*e the night before when deer was in the backyard and she went after them and got through the fence. Owners spent all night and day looking for her but luck. One of a awesome supporters reached out to Marcia and suggest to give us a try. We showed up around 9pm got our story and put the drone to work. Thermals were pretty good as we were seeing our usual suspects but no Lulu yet. After awhile I moved to a new location and searched that area but had no luck. Looking at the map the only area that was left was a golf course down the road. Which made sense as she wasn't seen all day and nobody is golfing right now. So I moved one more time and sure glad I did as Lulu was sleeping right against a tree trying to stay warm. We made the short drive over to Lulu's location. Luckily she was in a good spot where we could get to her pretty easy. Marcia did a great job staying calm and talking to Lulu while she was in the creek. Lulu climbed the snowy creek bank to come to Marcia and it was all wagging tails from there. Now Lulu gets to spend the night back in her house where she belongs.

Received a call this morning about a weiner dog named Puppy who got out the night previously. Due to the bright sun we had to wait until this evening to get started when the sun started to set. We made the drive out to Aurora and when we showed up a puppy has been out for over 24 hours and no sightings owners were losing hope. We asked the couple questions we always do and put the drone to work. After about 20 minutes of searching i found that heat signature I was looking for and it was Puppy! She made it clear up this giant hill and was laying at a field edge. It's impressive that he made it far as he had bad eyesight. We got permission from the owner of the property and they let us drive through the field to cut off s lot of walking for us. We brought Puppy brother who couldn't hear and after a few minutes Puppy came out to them. It was such an awesome moment to see everyone excitement when we got him back makes all these moments worth it.

Got a call tonight about A Rottweiler and a pit bull that decide to go on a cold adventure. We showed up on scene to where the last known location was. Went over with the owners a brief description of how this works and we put the drone in the air. It didn't take long and we could see a heat signal along the fence line and to our excitement there they were curled up against each other trying to stay warm. Owner made the rough hike through the tall snow to the pups. They were unsure at first but after a couple minutes they went right to dad and it was all wagging tails from there. I'm glad they didn't wait as these pups were very cold. After being out for 10 hours they already had some ice on their face and body and doing everything they could to start warm. Winter is harsh on pups, even harder on short hair dogs. Glad we were able to get them, not sure how things would of turned over night since it's reaching negative temps tonight.
