There is often no excuse for skipping workouts. If you really want it, you’ll find a way to work around injuries and focus on other areas.

Can’t squat to full depth because of knee pain?
- Box squats.
- Upper body workout.
- Hip dominate belt squat.
- Do more rehab on the knee.
- Hip thrust

SLAP is an acronym and Stands for Superior Labrum Anterior and Posterior. The superior part of the labrum is injured and the tear occurs on the anterior and posterior side. Where the injury happens is the insertion point for biceps tendon and that damaged as well.

The shoulder is a ball and socket joint and has globular range of motion. The shoulder joint is made up of three bones: humerus, scapula and clavicle. The scapula has a socket where the head of the humerus fits into, this is called the glenoid fossa. The glenoid fossa is covered in the fibrous tissue called the labrum and the labrum acts a vacuum and helps deepens the articulation to make the shoulder joint stronger and more stable. 

So it is important to be able to identify it and implement a rehabilitation plan.

No matter who you are or what sport you play, I bet you’ve rolled your ankle. At some point in your life, you’ve probably stepped weird and rolled over on your foot.

That’s how easy it is to sprain your ankle. Even if nothing happened that time, ankle sprains are such a common injury. It’s important to be able to identify what grade it is and the limitations it has.

I just realized it was athletic training/ therapy day. So for all you AT’s out there, happy athletic training day!

This profession has brought me so many unique opportunities that other programs would not have. Not only have a learned a lot from this line of work, it has also brought me life experiences that Im glad to be apart of.

One of my favourites memories from work/undergrad.

When I was senior student, we had an away game where we had to charter a plan. Sadly, we were responsible to load the plan. One of my junior students, let’s call him liam, decided to get on the plan forgetting we had to do that- and once you get in the plan, you can’t get off.

So there he is waving at the rest of us from the plane window.

So I took it upon myself, to create a point system for my juniors because I was technically somewhat in charge of them and gave every plus 10 points and liam -50. I’ve never let him live it down and he’s still at negative points. No gold stars for you Liam.

1 out of 10 people will are affected by plantar fasciitis but it is one thing that is very treatable!

The plantar fascia has an important job within the body by absorbing forces placed upon it and supporting different structures within the foot. It can be easily to irritate if prolonged stress occurs.

Pain is not normal. Pain stimulus is your body telling you that something isn’t right. So let me say it again, you should not have pain in your lower back after deadlifting or squatting.
If you do, then there is some type of improper movement, bracing problem or mobility issue present. You’ll need to take a step back and really dive in to find the issue.
Pain is not soreness.

Warming up is an important part of your workout because it prevents injuries and helps your get body ready for the workout.

You will perform better in the gym if you take this step before starting your workout.
