hello all!

sharing Braxton’s Army page - and asking for prayers for this sweet boy and his family ❤️

Braxton update as of 12/31 am
At 4:10 am, Braxton had his brain monitor removed and is currently doing well. However, he had chest X-rays and ultrasound scans to examine his lungs. He does have pneumonia.
Braxton had slight movement in his right arm! The doctor was “ mildly impressed ” by the slight movement of his right arm towards his chest, which did not seem like posturing and appeared to be more coordinated. (We will take it!!!) The MRI will be postponed, the focus for the next couple of days is to clear up the pneumonia. jen and Ryan agree 100% with this plan! Keep those prayers going!!!!

happy new year everyone!! reminiscing on the years of our new year’s day flow together, and hope everyone is well and gets to spend some time on their mats today 💕 miss you all!

one of the many wonderful things about yoga is that it gives you time to slow down. you intentionally become still, you intentionally breathe deeply into the stillness - you let the body relax and feel each breath move through the body - and slowly, breath by breath, you take the seat of the witness “yoga is to still the patterning of consciousness.” this practice is to still the thinking mind, instead of continuously following the repeating loop, we see it, we choose to watch the thoughts, we watch where our words come from, where our actions come from, we dive deeper to where the continuous repeating loop comes from, and have the opportunity to rest in that space of understanding and escape the hold of the unconscious mind, coming off of our mats with a deeper knowing of the self. ❤️

“Our minds like to think. They like to be busy. They like to be occupied.

They’re creative, cunning, and clever.

They want to take up all of our attention. They will if we let them.

They want to pull is into their web of stories. They’ll obsess over anything if we let them.

Our minds will always be occupied—make us feel mentally occupied—unless we cultivate stillness, unless we create distance.

When we begin to observe our minds, when begin to watch our thoughts and how they move and the relentless nature of them, we cultivate a presence that sits outside of them. We understand that those thoughts are not us; they’re not who we are. We can see them, witness them—from a distance.

This distancing from our minds, this watching and observing, is a practice.

It’s knowing we’ll get lost in thoughts, realizing it when we see it’s happening, and then coming back to the present. It’s breathing and observing. It’s allowing. It’s watching the thoughts that are moving, noticing how even the want to resist them is an urge, an impulse that can be watched and observed.

Eckhart Tolle talks so beautifully about the present moment, about the power and purity of being in the present moment.

Here are 10 Eckhart Tolle quotes that will make you feel like you can breathe:”

Our minds like to think. They like to be busy. They like to be occupied. They’re creative, cunning, and clever. They want to take up all of our attention. They will if we let them.
