Many of you probably know Riley by now. She's a staff and volunteer favorite at our Westhampton location. Her love of Curious George stuffed animals is legendary. She's even a part of our Sponsor a Pet Program. And yet, after four years, her evenings are still spent behind kennel bars.

Riley is 7-years-old; technically a senior. And she has spent 1,483 days waiting for a home.
That is four years without a couch, a routine, or a person to call her own.

Riley can be wary of strangers so she needs a few meet and greets to feel safe. That is incredibly common for dogs who have lived in a shelter for as long as she has. Trust takes a little time when stability has never been guaranteed.

Once Riley knows you, she is all in; sweet, gentle, and wonderfully silly. She adores her people, and they adore her right back.
Riley would do best as the only pet in an adult home where she can finally exhale and be at ease.

Riley should not be spending her golden years behind kennel bars. She deserves peace, safety, and a soft place to land.
