During National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, we’re highlighting the importance of regular colorectal cancer screening. Experts estimate more than 158,000 new colorectal cancer cases will be diagnosed in 2026, underscoring the value of early detection.

Colorectal cancer is highly treatable when found early, and screening can detect precancerous polyps before they become serious. If you’re 45 or older, or have risk factors, consider talking with your provider about which screening option is right for you. Taking preventive steps today supports better health tomorrow.

To learn more about preventative screenings, speak with your primary care provider. To schedule an appointment, visit https://wellstonepartners.org/services/primary-care/ or call 254-470-8107.

True or False? Antibiotics can treat viruses.
Answer: False! Antibiotics fight bacteria, not viruses. Common viral illnesses like colds, flu and most sore throats won’t improve with antibiotics. Using them unnecessarily can lead to antibiotic resistance, making future infections harder to treat.

When you’re sick, talk to your primary care provider or visit our urgent care to discuss the best treatment for your symptoms.
