When we say, "autism is a spectrum" we don't mean a line from less to more autistic. Autism is a spiky profile. That means we have different needs and abilities in different areas. Some of us struggle with sensory issues, while some of us struggle more with emotional regulation.

Autism is also a dynamic disability. That means it varies in severity and impact over time. My needs and abilities fluctuate. I can be productive one day and then be melting down another day. My sensory issues have gotten exponentially worse over time.

Autism is a spectrum and it's dynamic.
