FOUND THIS WEEKEND: SADDLE IN THE DEBRIS

While clearing debris this past weekend, we came across this saddle — buried deep in the brush and flood wreckage.

It’s clearly been through a lot and is in pretty rough shape… but we’re hoping to clean it up just enough to check for any markings or details that might help us figure out who it belonged to.

If anyone has advice on how to clean something like this — or if there’s even a chance at trying to restore it or uncover identifying marks — we’re open to any suggestions.

It may be a very long shot, but for someone out there, this might’ve meant something special. And if there’s even a small chance we can get it back to them, we want to try.

The weekend brought long days, heavy work, and real impact.

Me and Jeffery were grateful to get back out there — clearing, cutting, connecting, and helping however we could. And we’re thankful for every prayer, donation, and share that helped get us there.

We’re back to work during the week (bills still gotta get paid), but we’re doing what we can behind the scenes — coordinating with others, putting out calls, and getting supplies to where they’re needed most.

We wish we could be in the field every day. We really do. But we’re not quite in that position yet. Still, the mission doesn’t stop.

As the phases shift from recovery to rebuilding, the needs will change too — and we’re doing our best to stay flexible and ready to respond wherever we’re called.

Day two on the same site, and we’re wrapping up with boots on the ground and hearts full. Grateful for the strength to serve, and for the hands that came together to push back the mess. God’s provision shows up in the dirt, sweat, and unity.

Boots on the ground. Trailers loaded. Hope rising.

We’re back out in Hunt today, continuing flood relief efforts in the Texas Hill Country. Yesterday alone, we cleared and hauled off around 25–30 trailer loads of debris — cutting, hauling, and working side by side to move what the flood left behind.

We had chainsaws running all day — clearing downed trees and thick brush to help make a way forward for the families still trying to rebuild.

It’s hot. It’s hard. But it’s holy work.

We’ve met families who’ve lost nearly everything… and yet their faith and resilience still shine. One home we worked at yesterday had been completely wiped out along the riverbank.

If you’re not able to come out in person — that’s okay. There are other ways to help.

Prayer is powerful. We believe in that deeply. Please keep lifting up this region and the people still picking up the pieces.

🦁 FOUND IN THE RUBBLE

While out in the field today, we came across this little red lion — tucked right in the middle of the rubble we were clearing and cutting through. Just sitting there in the debris, almost easy to miss. But something about it caught our eye.

Maybe it’s just a toy. Or maybe it’s a reminder.

The lion has always been a symbol of strength, courage, and kingship. And for those of us who follow Him, it’s impossible not to think of the Lion of Judah — Jesus, who walks with us through the dust, the heat, the heartbreak, and the mess.

We don’t always find what we’re looking for in the rubble. But sometimes we find exactly what we need 🙏

A quiet reminder that we are not alone.

🕡 Arrive between 7:00–7:20 AM
🚐 Convoy departs no later than 7:35–7:50 AM

This gives us time to:
• Debrief as a group and go over the plan
• Get a head count and answer any questions
• Get acquainted with one another
• Complete sign-in and cover basic safety info

🕔 DURATION:
We expect to be out until around 5:00 PM, depending on conditions and what sites need us most.

🧰 WHAT TO BRING (AND WHAT WE’LL HAVE):

Come ready for another full day — hot, dusty, hands-on, and meaningful. If you’ve got gear, bring it. If not, come anyway — just being here and lending a hand means a lot. Hearts to serve mean more than anything.

✅ Please bring:
• Closed-toed shoes or boots (required)
• Work gloves – we’ll have a few extras
• Water bottle or hydration pack
• Snacks or packed lunch
• Sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray
• Small backpack or cinch bag
• Optional but helpful: hand tools (shovel, rake, etc.)

🛠️ We’ll provide:
• Core tools (shovels, chainsaws, sledgehammers)
• Cold drinks and snacks
• A strong, faith-led crew with hearts to serve

🧭 OUR MISSION:
Flood recovery work continues — and we’re still meeting families who’ve been waiting weeks for help. We’re here to serve wherever we’re most needed:
• Cleanup + debris hauling
• Chainsaw and demolition support
• Relief work for homes still affected
