One of the things I teach all my students is to develop a relationship with their dog. I think these picture reveal that perfectly. It certainly showed in their excellent performance as a detection team. When the going gets rough or the dog gets unsure you’ll appreciate having that relationship. It will pull your team through.

I am taking students now for the 2026 for all levels of AKC tracking. Classes are 4 weeks meeting day/time is flexible to students availability and will be determined once students are enrolled.

I will also be doing certification tracks for those who feel they are ready.

Congratulations to Rebecca and Cedar another Chilbrook team cleaning up at scent trials.

“Cedar finished his AKC Scentwork Buried Advanced (SBA) Element Title today at the Pacific Northwest Scentwork Club Trial in Mcminville today. He earned 1st place out of 18 dogs. 2 hides found in water containers. 15.99 seconds.

He also earned qualifying legs in Interior Advanced 7th place/19 dogs and Exterior Excellent 5th place/10 dogs. …Exterior he searched Awesome!

Tomorrow, we will continue to work on Interior Advanced, Buried Excellent, Containers Excellent, and Exterior Excellent to earn 2nd Legs hopefully. We will need to enter another trial to title, as we need 3 Q's in Each Element.”
