We are honored to once again be named 𝑩𝙚𝒔𝙩 𝙁𝒖𝙣𝒆𝙧𝒂𝙡 𝙃𝒐𝙢𝒆 in the 𝐻𝑎𝑟𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝐷𝑎𝑖𝑙𝑦 𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑠 𝐵𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝐻𝑎𝑟𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑜𝑛—for the 𝐟𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐫𝐨𝐰 (2021–2025).

We are truly grateful for the trust and confidence our community places in us.

Holt Memorial Chapel traces its roots back well over a century to the 𝑹. 𝑫. 𝑪𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑭𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑼𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒚, later purchased in 1924 by 𝑳𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒚 “𝑳. 𝑪.” 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒕, beginning a legacy of service carried on by the Holt and Ragan families for generations. Today, we are proud to be the 𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐲, 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚, now entrusted to the 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒔.

Today, 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒑 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒍 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒆, along with 𝑨𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒅𝒎𝒂𝒏, our Advanced Planning Consultant, had the opportunity to attend the 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒆 2026 𝑨𝒏𝒏𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 at the Durand Center.

It was a well-attended event, and we enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces from across Boone County. Congratulations to all of the award recipients — well deserved!

It was also a pleasure to hear from 𝑴𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑲𝒆𝒐𝒈𝒉, 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒔. It was encouraging to learn about their plans as they get established in Harrison, and we look forward to the positive impact their company will bring to our area.

We also appreciate the local school involvement and the 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝑭𝑭𝑨 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 who did a wonderful job serving. The meal was excellent, and the fellowship was even better.

Today, we recognize a meaningful date — the wedding anniversary of 𝐆𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐉𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐡𝐮𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝, 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐑𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧.

Patrick and Glenna were united in marriage in 1957 at First Baptist Church in Harrison, when it was located across from the Hotel Seville. Their marriage reflected not only a deep personal commitment, but also a continuation of a family legacy that has served this community for generations.

Patrick was the grandson of Luther Clay “L. C.” Holt, who began this legacy in 1924 when he purchased the R. D. Cline Furniture and Undertaking Company. Through the years, the Holt and Ragan families faithfully served the people of North Arkansas, guiding families with compassion and care.

After Patrick’s passing in 1986, Glenna continued to lead Holt Memorial Chapel with dedication and grace for many years. Under her leadership, the funeral home received national recognition and carried forward its long tradition of service.

Patrick and Glenna’s legacy also lives on through their children: Kelly (Jarl) Anerud of Rogers; Dr. Kent (Gay Ann) Ragan and Dr. Kerry (Joe) Wantuck, both of Springfield, Missouri. Kelly and Kent are pictured here, while Kerry had not yet arrived at the time the photo was taken.

On this day, we reflect on their life together and the lasting legacy they built, and our thoughts are especially with Ms. Glenna.

At 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒕 𝑴𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒍, we are grateful for the dedicated professionals who serve families in their most difficult moments. Today we want to recognize our funeral directors —𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫, 𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫, 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐩 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐊𝐞𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐌𝐮𝐭𝐡 — for the care, compassion, and professionalism they bring to every family they serve.

John Conner is a 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝-𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 who graduated from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 1985. He followed in the footsteps of his father, the late James A. “Jim” Conner, continuing a family legacy of service to families during their time of loss.

Jackie Conner has faithfully served alongside John for many years and is known for her kindness, attention to detail, and heartfelt care for the families we are honored to serve.

Phillip Collie is a licensed funeral director and embalmer with 𝟑𝟎 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 in funeral service. Throughout his career, he has been committed to helping families navigate loss with dignity, respect, and personal attention.

Keith DeMuth joined Holt Memorial Chapel in 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 and earned his 𝐀𝐫𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐬 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫’𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒. Since joining our team, Keith has been a compassionate presence for the families we serve and a valued member of our staff.

Funeral service is more than a profession—it is a calling to walk alongside families during some of life’s most tender moments. We are thankful for Phillip and Keith and the care they provide to our community every day.

Funeral Director Keith Demuth is one of the steady and familiar faces here at Holt Memorial Chapel. From the time your loved one comes in to our care, all the way through visitation, graveside, or delivering some of the flowers and trinkets to your home after service- he is a constant here. Then there is our Advance Planning Consultant- Allison Redman. She is not here all the time, but when she is around- she spends much of her time visiting with families, offering a smile when it’s needed most, and guiding loved ones through difficult moments with calm, steady care.

The work of serving families in mourning is done quietly and efficiently behind the scenes — but sometimes the most meaningful moments are the simplest ones, carried out with a smile.

It might be Keith fixing a cup of coffee for someone at visitation… or like today, Allison pacing in the living room area of our office, holding a baby so Momma could sit in the chapel and be present with the rest of her family.

These moments may not appear in the obituary or the printed program, but they are part of the compassion that happens each and every day at Holt Memorial Chapel.

As another week comes to a close, many of us are thinking about the people who shaped us.

The ones who taught us how to work hard.
The ones who showed us how to pray.
The ones who told the same stories over and over — and we’d give anything to hear them one more time.

Grief doesn’t always feel loud.
Sometimes it feels like a quiet moment on a Sunday evening… when memories gently surface.

At 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐥, we are reminded every week that love doesn’t end when life does. It changes form — becoming stories, values, and lessons that live on in us.

Carson is always willing to put a suit on and come to the office with dad to help on a service.

Today, he’s just as willing to put on casual clothes and wash a hearse.

Around here, titles don’t matter — service does.

At 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒕 𝑴𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒍, we believe the little things matter. Whether it’s preparing a vehicle, greeting a family at the door, or standing quietly during a service, every role is important.

Carson enjoys being involved and helping however he can. Some days that means a suit and tie. Other days it means a bucket, soap, and a hose.

That’s how family businesses grow — not just through ownership, but through learning what it means to serve.

For over a century, families have trusted 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒕 𝑴𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒍. And it’s a blessing to see the next generation learning that caring for families isn’t just something we do… it’s who we are. 🤍
