At first glance, you may notice the beautiful flag set against a cotton candy sky. You may notice the friends visiting by the sign, or the number of vehicles triple-parked along the Memorial Lawn...

I notice that there were easily over 1,000 members of the community who showed up to share their love for a friend, a neighbor. I notice the number of laughs that far outweighed the tears.

Happy Birthday, Mrs. Glenna Ragan! 🎉

Today, April 19, we honor and celebrate a truly remarkable woman whose legacy continues to shape Holt Memorial Chapel.

A native of Alpena and graduate of Alpena High School, Glenna devoted her life to family, faith, and service. After marrying Patrick E. Ragan in 1957, the grandson of L. C. Holt, they built a life centered on love and community while raising their three children: Kelly, Kent, and Kerry.

Following Patrick’s passing in 1986, Glenna stepped into leadership at Holt Memorial Chapel with grace and determination. As a licensed funeral director in Arkansas and Missouri, she led with compassion and excellence, guiding the funeral home to statewide and national recognition—including becoming the first in Arkansas to receive the NFDA Pursuit of Excellence Award.

Her servant’s heart extended far beyond the funeral home. Glenna’s dedication to her community earned her the Paul Harris Fellow Award from the Harrison Rotary Club.

Now enjoying retirement in Springfield, Missouri, near her children—Kent and Kerry—Glenna remains a cherished ambassador, friend, and inspiration to us all.

Mrs. Glenna, your legacy of compassion, leadership, and service is a blessing to every family and staff member connected to Holt Memorial Chapel. We are grateful for you today and always.
