Kim has been a pillar of Forrest General Hospital’s neurology unit since 1990, dedicating more than 30 years to caring for patients and supporting her team. No matter the role, Kim leads with experience, heart, and steady reassurance.

She is the nurse you want beside you in the toughest moments. Her calm presence brings confidence during high-stress situations, and she has a way of stepping in to help before anyone even asks. Kim is the go-to resource for her colleagues, offering strength, knowledge, and compassion every step of the way.

Patients consistently share how much comfort and trust they feel in her care. She teaches clearly, listens deeply, and treats every person with unwavering respect. When Kim is assigned to a patient, you know they’re in the most capable hands.

Our Forrest General Christmas Choir helped make our facilities merry & bright, spreading holiday cheer from our annual Christmas party to stops throughout the hospital, including the Cancer Center.

The Hattiesburg Stack, a newly commissioned painting by Mississippi artist Charlie Buckley, was unveiled on December 11, 2025, during a one-night-only event at Prospect on Main Gallery in downtown Hattiesburg. Commissioned by Abb and Jennifer Payne as a gift to the city they call home, the work is a Hattiesburg-specific edition of Buckley’s acclaimed Stacked Series, which explores the layered histories of Mississippi towns and cities.
Measuring 60 by 60 inches and created in oil on panel, The Hattiesburg Stack features dozens of recognizable local landmarks—each thoughtfully selected with the Paynes to reflect the city’s architectural, cultural, and civic identity. These include the Saenger Theater, The University of Southern Mississippi’s scoreboard and Aubrey K. Lucas Administration Building, William Carey University’s Tatum Hall, Hattiesburg City Hall, Forrest County Courthouse, Coney Island Cafe, Longleaf Trace, Camp Shelby, the Hattiesburg Depot, Hattiesburg Water Tower, and the Evelyn Gandy House Historical Marker.

This holiday season, our Forrest Health staff has been busy in the best way. Giving back, decorating, celebrating, and showing up for our communities. From donations to festive moments at our facilities and community events, they continue to make the season a little brighter for everyone around them.

Congratulations to Sarah Jones, RN, Austin Burks, RN, and Chuck Pierce!

Recently, a hospice patient’s family asked if it would be possible for him to be baptized in the hospital. Because of the collaboration and determination of Sarah, Austin, and Chuck, along with support from multiple departments, that request became a meaningful and unforgettable reality.

They worked together to prepare the rehab unit’s transitional apartment and gently transferred the patient using a Hoyer sling so he could be fully submerged for baptism. It was a deeply moving moment that brought comfort to the family and reflected the very best of who we are at Forrest General. Please join us in celebrating them!

At Forrest Health, we believe community is stronger when we care for one another. That’s why our partnership with Edwards Street Fellowship Center has meant so much over the years.
Through the Fellowship Health Clinic, uninsured and underinsured families are able to access medical, dental, and wellness care at no cost thanks to the dedication of volunteers, community physicians, and our very own Forrest General Family Medicine Residency Program.
As Executive Director Ann McCullen says, “It truly gives life, and we could not be more thankful for all the many ways Forrest Health makes that happen.”

When neighbors care for neighbors, lives change. Forrest Health and Edwards Street Fellowship Clinic are making sure underinsured families in our area get the medical care they need.

Big changes are making a real difference at Perry County General Hospital.

After months of renovation, the Emergency Services area in Richton is now fully updated, bringing a new trauma room, improved patient spaces, enhanced safety features, a lighted helipad, and expanded equipment to better serve the community 24/7.
