Here are a few grounding techniques that can help during the tough moments:

🧘‍♀️ 1. Pause Before You React
Take a slow breath, unclench your jaw, and give yourself 3 seconds before responding.
Those 3 seconds can turn a reactive moment into a connected one.

💬 2. Narrate Your Feelings
Try: “I’m feeling frustrated, and I need a moment.”
Modeling emotional awareness teaches kids far more than perfection ever could.

🔄 3. Repair When Needed
You don’t have to get it right every time. A simple:
“I’m sorry I snapped — let’s try again”
builds trust and teaches resilience.

Here are a few simple communication techniques that can transform your relationship:

🔹 Reflective Listening
Instead of preparing your reply, listen to understand. Try: “What I hear you saying is…”

🔹 Use “I” Statements
Reduce blame and defensiveness. “I feel overwhelmed when the chores pile up” feels better than “You never help.”

🔹 Assume Positive Intent
