🎉 ONE YEAR OF UNBOUNDOT 🎉

Wow… one whole year of UnboundOT!

What started as an idea fueled by passion for helping people live more independent, meaningful lives has grown into something so much more than I imagined. 💛

This past year has been filled with:
✨ Supporting clients in their own environments
✨ Building meaningful connections
✨ Advocating for functional, client-centered care
✨ Taking a leap into something new and unknown

Every home visited, every goal achieved, and every small win celebrated has reminded me why I chose occupational therapy in the first place.

To my clients, families, and supporters—thank you for trusting me, encouraging me, and being part of this journey. You are the heart of UnboundOT.

Year one was just the beginning… and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead. 🚀

If you or someone you love could benefit from mobile outpatient occupational therapy, let’s connect!

Falls are one of the leading causes of injury for older adults—but many falls are preventable.

During Occupational Therapy Month, we’re highlighting how OT supports fall prevention and safety at home.

Occupational therapists can help by:
✔ Identifying fall risks in the home
✔ Improving strength and balance for daily tasks
✔ Teaching safe mobility strategies
✔ Recommending adaptive equipment when needed
✔ Helping people stay confident and active

Preventing falls isn’t just about safety—it’s about maintaining independence and quality of life.

If you’re concerned about fall risk for yourself or a loved one, occupational therapy can help provide solutions.

🌍 World Health Day: Health is More Than Just Healthcare

Health isn’t just about doctor visits and medications—it’s about the ability to live your life fully. That’s where Occupational Therapy comes in.

Occupational therapists help people participate in the everyday activities that give life meaning—whether that’s cooking a meal, playing with grandchildren, returning to work, or safely staying independent at home.

On World Health Day, let’s remember that health includes:
✔️ Independence in daily life
✔️ Safe and accessible environments
✔️ Meaningful participation in the things that matter most

Occupational Therapy supports people of all ages in building strength, adapting environments, and developing strategies to live well—no matter the challenge.

Because true health means being able to do the things that make life meaningful.

💬 If you or someone you love is struggling with daily tasks due to injury, illness, or aging, Occupational Therapy may help.

If getting dressed is becoming difficult, try these simple strategies:

✔ Sit down while putting on pants or socks
✔ Use long-handled reachers or sock aids if bending is hard
✔ Keep frequently worn clothing easy to reach

Small changes can make everyday activities easier and safer.

Occupational therapy focuses on practical solutions that help people stay independent.

It’s Occupational Therapy Month, and this week we’re talking about aging in place.

Most older adults want to remain in their homes as they age—and occupational therapy helps make that possible.

An OT can help with:
✔ Fall prevention strategies
✔ Home safety recommendations
✔ Energy conservation for chronic illness
✔ Strength and balance for daily activities
✔ Adaptive equipment to maintain independence

Small changes can make a big difference in staying safe and independent at home.

If you or a loved one wants to remain safely at home longer, occupational therapy can help make that goal achievable.

Let’s talk about meaningful activities!

One of the things occupational therapy focuses on is helping people continue doing the activities that bring joy and purpose to their lives.

What’s one activity you love doing that helps you feel like yourself?

💬 Walking
💬 Gardening
💬 Cooking
💬 Crafting
💬 Playing with grandkids
💬 Something else?

🌷 Easter, Independence, and Mobile Occupational Therapy 🐣

Holidays like Easter often bring family gatherings, meals, traditions, and meaningful activities. For many older adults or individuals recovering from illness or injury, participating in these moments can become more challenging.

This is where mobile outpatient occupational therapy can make a big difference. By working with people in their own homes, occupational therapists can help individuals safely participate in the activities that matter most.

Examples of Easter activities OT can support:

🥚 Preparing Easter meals or treats – Addressing strength, endurance, and safe kitchen mobility so individuals can continue cooking for loved ones.

🌸 Decorating the home for spring – Working on balance, reaching, and safe movement while maintaining meaningful traditions.

🧺 Hosting or attending family gatherings – Practicing energy conservation, mobility strategies, and safe transfers to stay involved in celebrations.

🚶‍♀️ Getting out into the community – Building confidence with walking, navigating environments, and reducing fall risk.

Occupational therapy focuses on helping people participate in the everyday activities that bring purpose and connection to life. Sometimes the goal isn’t just recovery—it’s making sure someone can still be part of the moments that matter.

💬 What Easter tradition is most meaningful to you or your family?

OT Myth vs Fact!

❌ Myth: Occupational therapy only helps people get back to work.

✅ Fact: Occupational therapy helps people participate in all the activities that fill their daily lives, including cooking, dressing, hobbies, caring for family members, and staying active in their communities.

In OT, we call these meaningful activities “occupations.”

OT supports independence, safety, and quality of life for people of all ages and abilities.
