Steven Guo’s journey with the Global Shapers community has been transformative. Reflecting on his experience, he shares, “My favorite part of being a Shaper has been the incredible relationships I’ve built with Shapers from all around the world. Starting with my first event in Las Vegas in 2023 as part of the Climate Reality Project’s Leadership Training, each subsequent event has deepened those bonds and challenged me to be more intentional with my work.”
That experience inspired a major career pivot, from healthcare philanthropy to supporting startup ecosystems and social enterprises. Steven has also contributed to impactful projects like the Inter-Racial Dialogue Series and local collaborations with Global Links and InvolveMINT.
Among the many events he’s attended, the Annual Curators Summit in Geneva stands out. “It was one of the first times I felt proud to be an American among Shapers from all over the world. It reminded me of the importance of global institutions and feeling like a global citizen.”
Looking ahead, Steven is eager to strengthen the Pittsburgh Hub, build partnerships, and bring local Shapers to future events.
