Gary Scheyd Memorial Golf Tournament Memorial Golf Tournament in memory of Gary Scheyd to benefit the Connecticut Children's Medical Center.

We invite you to join us for the Annual Gary Scheyd Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit the Connecticut Childrens Medical Center. Gary loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren, particulary when it meant family vacations in "Minnie" - his beloved motor home. And it was his love for NASCAR that led us to the Victory Junction camp for children with special needs. During that trip he began talking with a volunteer who told him that someone with his skill as a master plumber could really be helpful to the camp. As he left, he told us that when he retired, he was going to become a volunteer at Victory Junction. Unfortunately, that day never came because he lost his battle with Stage IV Lung Cancer just 9 short months after receiving the devastating diagnosis. Wanting to do something to honor his memory and help the children who meant so much to him, we started this tournament. It seemed only natural to partner with Connecticut Children's Medical Center - a hospital that cared only for children right here in our own community. We are proud to continue to share Gary's love for children and his desire to help those in need, and thank you for helping make that possible. Well the Gary Scheyd Memorial Golf Outing is over for this year and the weather could not have been anymore perfect. I just want to thank my daughter Kristen Scheyd Levesque for all her work again this year and the wonderful raffle prizes. All of the return volunteers, Laurie Alice Foster, Kim Turgeon Scheyd, Donna Pritchard, Colleen Ohare, Lorie Lane and Andrea Velez, And welcome to our 1st year volunteers Nina Mortensen & Savannah Boch. You all did a great job and without your help it would have been a lot harder for Kristen and I to get it all done today. I want to also thank all of our golfers for your support for the last 7 years. You are all so generous, I can't wait to see how much we raised for all the children at CCMC's Audiology Dept. Keep a look out for pictures from the golf outing

We are winding down to the finish line for the "Gary Scheyd Memorial Golf Outing" have you registered yet? We still have a few openings and it looks like this is going to be one of our biggest golf outings. The response has been great and I can't believe how generous everyone has been with donating raffle prizes. Just to name a few raffle prizes we have a Sam Bass picture of Nascar great Carl Edwards, not 1 but 2 beautiful golf bags, IPod, IPad, Coach pocketbooks and so many more items that this posting would go on forever so come join us on July 18th at 10:00 at Blackledge Country Club for 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch, raffle prizes, lots of surprises, (you never know what those volunteers have planned), dinner and a whole lot of fun. Hope we see you on the 18th. :)
