Hello All. Nurse Sandy here. I thought I would give an End of the Year report to update everyone on my nursing business.

October: We said goodbye to my first patient, Ms. Bernice. She fought valiantly for a long time and passed at home. Her daughter, Shari honored her mom before, during and after her passing. My take home lesson: the mother-daughter relationship is precious and tender at any phase of life.

November: I began caring for the sweetest person on earth, named Esther. Esther was 97, a stroke survivor and well-cared for by her devoted husband, Larry. As I learned Larry and Esther's love story, my respect for Larry grew and grew. I saw true love in action. Larry took his wedding vows seriously and cared for his wife, through sickness and in health and until death due us part. My take home lesson: If only all husbands could love their wives, like Larry loved Esther. . .

December: We said goodbye to Esther. She passed quietly in her sleep. The grieving was real for all of us, especially Larry. I feel privileged to have been a small part of their lives.

In summary, I have learned much since starting my nursing business eight months ago. Knowing the role I played in both of these families propels me to go forward into 2026 to assist more families during a difficult phase of life. Thank you for following my journey all these months. My heart is full.

"Never tire of doing what is right".

Hi All. Nurse Sandy here. Can we talk about dignity for a minute? Why was I shocked the other day??? Did I really hear another health professional ask me right in front of my patient, if she was wearing diapers?? I was shocked. stunned. overwhelmed. I immediately corrected him and stated "she wears disposable underwear." Maintaining our loved one's dignity includes the words we use. Let's be mindful of that.

Hi All. Nurse Sandy here. I am enjoying caring for my precious patient. When I added a digital calendar/clock to her bedroom, we instantly saw her night time confusion improve. A simple intervention greatly improved her quality of life. My heart ❤️ was full when she sincerely thanked me for the clock and raved about how much better she is sleeping.

Hi All. Nurse Sandy here. This week I collaborated well with my patient's hospice nurse. It was a productive meeting as I informed him of the changes in the patient's condition, requested medications refills and ordered personal supplies. Both of us enjoyed this collaboration and most importantly good decisions were made to enhance the quality of life of my precious patient.

Hi All. Nurse Sandy here. Nausea 🤢is a common problem for those suffering from chronic illnesses. It takes critical thinking skills to research the many causes of nausea and resolve it. I was able to do that for my client and it brought me great joy to see her eating without feeling nauseated! Win-win for all. 🙌

Hello All. I am in Los Angeles, CA visiting some sites before heading to Japan. We found a lovely pet cemetery. It was so beautiful and peaceful. I am reminded that the pets in our lives are important members of our families and we grieve the same and want to honor their presence in our lives.
